How many slots do people generally have?

I have been following the advice to use HP only for cover slots so far - now I have 20. Is it time to stop expanding and start using HP to buy covers/upgrade?

In my opinion, you can never have too many slots. At the moment, there are 10 characters that you will not be able to recruit- a full third of the cast. And since probably half of your slots are taken up by 1*s, you won't have room for all those juicy 2 and 3*s you might want. Some characters are pretty unlikely to appear until you have enough room for them, like the 4*s, for example.
So my personal recommendation? Buy up to 25 slots, and you can always sell if you really need more. But that is just me, you know. Go with your gut.
  • I have 23 and I don't keep Yelena, Bag Man, and all Hawkeyes.
  • I have 30 because I don't like trashing covers for a character I don't have 13 of yet.
  • I have 29 slots now and I think it is really starting to get expensive with 400HP for the next new slot.

Should I trash some of those 1*?
  • I'm up to 22 cover slots I of course want as many as I can get for all the furture covers to come plus I like to try all the characters I enjoy finding uses for the niche covers like mod hawkeye or cap with countdown tiles. I love countdown tiles
  • Currently at 28 characters, 30 slots. No IW or Punisher yet. Wouldn't want to miss out on an event because I had sold off covers, and even my slow HP generation is faster than new characters are introduced.
  • I currently have 27 cover slots and it is full. I mostly only keep the characters that are 2* and higher, yes, even bagman and bullseye, but I might need to buy more soon. My level 1 venom is taking up space so I plan on selling him when the time comes, but not my other maxed 1*'s, they are still useful to me.

29, and I've trashed yelena and hawk eye from the 1 star brigade.

I am currently building a second wolvie, IM40 , grey widow and spidey as I built them suboptimally.
  • I've counted that to have all current available characters you need 30 slots. It's useless to have more than 1 of each type IMO but that's just my opinion. Pick the covers you want and count the needed slots. Or if you want to make a collection then go for 30.
  • Buy cover slots, you will have a chance to win characters in events. Spend HP only on Rag

40 cover slots is a max so far and last 4 or 5 cost 500HP
  • I have 16 slots, but I don't have any 1* characters I don't feel I need that many slots as I don't use all my characters anyway.
  • I stopped at 27, I bought them all when they were much cheaper. I've trashed Dakan, Yelena, and C.Hawkeye.

I highly doubt I will buy anymore. There's plenty of other characters I can trash.
  • 31, currently all full since I brought in a second M Widow to tank. Once Widowmaker is over I'll trash her.

Once another character is released I'll buy another one, as I like having a spare at all times. Bad memories from before they revamped the roster system.

As for whether or not you should spend HP on slots or powers -- depends on if you want to collect all the covers or not. If you do, then keep buying slots. If you don't, you're probably good and can trash bad characters, but realize that you may regret that in the future. Is Bagman utterly horrible? Yes. But he's useful for tanking. Are the 4*s trash? Yup. Maybe they'll improve them in the future. Yelena? Awful. But she was part of my team in the first DA tournament before I got Ragnarok, and in No Man's Land because I'm not going to sink ISO into another useless character instead (Moonstone).

It's all about tradeoffs. Realize that at some point you'll have more HP than you need, but you'll always be short on ISO. So even if you destroy covers now to get the cover slots, you'll lose pretty much all of the ISO invested in them, and if you suddenly need/want them for some reason it'll be very time consuming to change that.
  • Also have 31.
  • I'm at 30, one for each character.
  • I'm at 26, I don't keep Hawkeye, yelena or bagman. Sitting on some HP though, so I'll be ready if I need more.
  • Over 30 don't really know what to spend my HP on if not cover space. I mean most of the game's fun is getting covers, so buying them is basically robbing me of that excitement ^^

. Exactly. I have a bit over 2500 hp atm and 28 slots (I don't hold yelena or Hawkeye). I haven't grabbed 2-3 more cover slots cuz I don't need them.yet and want hp available in case some amazing deal comes out or some new card comes out that is amazing AND a character favorite of mine.

I could afford to buy covers and a 3*** but why rob myself the joy of earning my last mag covers? Not only that, but once I max blue every time I get a blue mag I will think "well, that means I just wasted 1225 hp." Sad that there were no lightning rounds icon_e_sad.gif got doom up to 93 and mag to 100 (ISO constraints) to try and get top 8 in a mag round. Spending money, which i don't, ruins the fun/accomplishment of the game for me. While the hp earned was still earned and not bought there is still a negative connotation in my head as I correlate hp to spending money and spending money to legalized cheating.

Side note: damn all ppl that got to spend hp on slots prior to the change to purchasing costs. Also, 500 hp rewards are sorely missed.

Placing top 100+ in these hulk sub events is a great way to make some hp for slots if u are low.
  • I'm at 30. I rushed covers in the very beginning before the first price change. The OCD completionist in me wants every single cover and I figure with new releases I should be futureproofed for a while.

I got so insanely lucky... I bought 2 cover slots two or three days before they changed the pricing. I didn't need them yet, but at the time it maxed me out for how many were needed for the available covers.

Of course, that only saved me something like 100 HP total. The price delta at the lower end is much, much greater. Especially since the first two or three slots were purchased with ISO, not HP, way back when.

Currently at 4390 HP. I might boost Hulk. Dunno. Even if I did he'd be ISO constrained.

Thing about buying powers is that, generally, by the time you have enough HP to consider doing so, kvetching about pulling a freebie later is meaningless... if you have so much HP that you can afford to buy 3* powers then you can probably earn back that HP in a few weeks (at most) anyway.
