Upcoming Anniversary Events and Rewards (10/6)

Hi Everyone –

The 1- Year Anniversary Party has begun with some fun and exciting news for players of Marvel Puzzle Quest. The fine folks over at Demiurge Studios have posted on their blog today some of the things to expect during the weeklong anniversary party once Season VI is over. There will be lots of great rewards to come for both long term and brand new players. We can’t mention the small token quite yet but we promise that you will want to play in these events and tournaments once the party begins.

    I'm very confused by the Devil Dino release.

    a) Is he only playable during that week, or only available to win during that week?
    b) Once you hit day 365, are all his covers earned, or just 1 cover like everyone else.

    The wording is really (intentionally?) vague as to the intentions of his release.

    It definitely sounds like you can only get Devil Dino from Anniversary Pack tokens during that week and for Daily Resupply Day #365. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until they feature the covers in a PVP/PVE.

    That's just my take on what was written.

    You forgot the if you spend 2500 hero points you can buy a cover.

    You have to have at least one color in each particular ability first.

    Vale you get one free. So you can buy Atleast 4 more. More power to the people who have 365 days in.

    But this one has three abilities, not just one. So you still have to find the other two colors.

    That's ok as long as it's his one good ability like all the new characters coming out.

    But if you had one ability and bought four covers, you could not level him beyond the soft cap so he (she?) would still be lousy.

    Sounds like all the event tokens for the anniversary week will be replaced with anniversary tokens. That's a good amount of tokens.

    Just ask the 1 cover iron man yellow for pve. No one complains about that.

    As I mentioned in the other thread they first posted that link in, they really need to clarify the bullet points.

    Hopefully, I'm just being paranoid, and they just mean his initial release is during the event via the 365 day progression and tokens, and that after that they will be available as normal rewards. If it isn't that way, it seems more like a quick grab for cash than a party.

    Hmm. I was hoping they were going to offer a new cover slot token so everyone who gets a Devil Dino will automatically have a place to put him. But I think you're probably right.

    Haha, that'd be somewhat welcome for me. I haven't been redeeming my pvp event tokens for a little over a month now since there's nothing in them I've been needing. It'd be cool if all of a sudden there were magically turned into a small chance of usefulness.

    ETA: reread that closer, and it probably just means tokens awarded that week, not converting all the useless ones taking up space in my inventory. hooray for my bag of holding i guess icon_rolleyes.gif

    Nope Dino only available from anniversary tokens. If you miss out this year you have to wait till the next anniversary! icon_lol.gif

    Sarcasm aside I am kinda excited for anniversary week. Can't wait.

    Not a big fan of characters only being available for a limited period. I generally don't mind having to work for a character, but if I'd just joined a game and found I couldn't unlock the full roster I'd be less likely to keep playing.

    Other than that though, sounds cool.

    D3 Will clarified in the other thread (after many direct questions -sheez they really need to work in the delivery of their announcements) that Dino is being given away from days 365-367 so you can get a cover of each colour. Also, that he'll be a "souvenir character" i.e. playable under the right circumstances but not overpowered that the ones who have it would get a real advantage over the ones who don't.
