Oh my god, this has to be the worst node ever.
HAMMER Analyst/Juggernaut/Venom
Analyst creates red and purple ****!!!!!!
So it is just non-stop headbutts and stuns, mine is only at 128 and I burned through 5 health packs and just barely won, thankyou HT inferno.

Yes and yes. Lots of times yes.
I saw that one on my first clear and said to myself "I'm no fool. I'm going to clear everything else and come back." Still haven't cleared it yet after throwing 2 sets of my best fully healthy guys at it.
Just for info, is the node after that equally terrible? I might forego both if so. Save the healthpacks for other nodes or *gasp* pvp .0 -
Oh, that sounds as fun as the node from the first sub with Ares and green-feeding goons. Basically the only way to win is to hope the AI places countdown tiles instead of using other abilities... ::sigh::.0

Its Ares/Sentry/Baby Daken
That's at least doable, Ares will hit hard but will probably keep Sentry's World Rupture from going off, its' the sacrifice or Sunder I'd be more worried about.0 -
I remember this from the last time they ran this same heroic - gotta target the analyst first and try to use OBW espionage to sap purple and then steal the other colors, then go after juggernaut next0
-
138 was pretty rough. But that was followed up by 155 Jr. Targeted down while trying to deny green, they still ended up on exactly 7. That was pretty much it. Most of my full health 230 150 and whatever maxed OBW was were left in tatters while stood there with his fabulous flowing locks flapping in the breeze, grinning smugly with his 200 health remaining. Bastardo! Wiped a few turns later.0

Than through both on my first try but it ate HPs in between, and IM/Psy/OBW are resting for now. Those two nodes HURT at those levels (148 and 167 respectively). They may scale me out of the sub placement.
Yes, Im still ticked that scaling started based off full roster. My IM40 is maxed but Psy is mid leveled and HT is base, missing covers.0 -

Thanks for the advice. I'll be trying this in a bit. With my roster, my best bet is OBW/Thor/Mod Hawkeye. Thought going after Jugs was the best bet. First time, wiped pretty quickly. 2nd time, was down to one character, don't remember who, but I do remember losing Mod Hawkeye and his 4 Speed Shot tiles when the countdown was at one. Barely made it thru, but did make it thru.0 -
Did this node start out as Hard for everyone, else, too? Or has it simply climbed in difficulty level over time?
*eyes Hard node very warily*0 -
It's at 127 but 'easy' for me, I can assure you it's anything but. Just think of this node as "do I wish to exchange hp packs for points?"0
-
5/5/1 IM40 / Psy / HT bursted this node down like usual. It was pretty scary though, I'm going to generally avoid the 2 hard nodes in these PvEs from now on, as they can turn quite ugly pretty quickly.0
-
I went in with boosts, full life for Psylocke and Thor, ready for the worst, and then got the best board ever. Three match-fives in the first four turns, nobody even got to use a power on the enemy side.
I'm thinking I'll stop while I'm ahead on that one.0 -

I think I'll save them for last each time through - if I can finish the other nodes with high health, I can take my chances and heal before the next refresh if necessary. If I got some bad boards on the other nodes, skip them so I can go into the next refresh with full health.0 -
My jugs was lvl 137. I was caught in a doom loop of unstoppable crash/cascade/headbutts for quite a few iterations, but managed to peck him down a bit between loops before getting a CotS off to take out the jugster before cleaning up the rest and dancing a jig on their "digital graves".0

I got an AR5 exactly the turn before the AI dropped a big cascade so I was pretty much set after that. Fireball wiped out Analyst on the next turn and I had all the AP I need to take down the other two, though of course that was an exceptionally lucky opening because usually even when you have an AR5 early you can't steal much with it because you got to use it whenever they've 6r, 6g, or 7p and end up not getting everything you need. The next node wiped me out pretty easily though I wasn't paying attention with my half dead team that didn't even last long enough for any of them to use a special move, though I doubt paying attention would've made much of a difference.0

Worked out pretty well with me. Might've just been a good board. I'm gonna try at Storm/OBW/MH now. Have enough HPs to revive OBW and MH to pair with Thor.
Would not recommend. I came out alive but just barely. Accidentally switched back to Jug, instead of the analyst. Storm got taken out with one of Jug's movements. Jug then wiped himself out and took MH with him. OBW was able to keep using purple and blues to stay alive and use the Hailstorm tiles to take out Venom. Might try again later, but if 2nd time doesn't do better, going back to Thor.0 -
Well, I got lucky with this node. The Analyst decided to use her AP for countdown tiles instead of letting Juggernaut or Venom use it. Psy only had to eat one Headbutt before she, HT, and OBW managed to down the team.
Sentry-Daken-Ares, on the other hand... ugh. Wiped twice due to cascades of doom before finally managing to beat it on the third try.0 -
they've really been cramming jugg into a lot of events lately and its been very annoying to the point where they need to take it easy on his use. his HP scales super hard as a one star to the point where he'll have as much as or more than a max level hulk combined with his cheap cost+effective powers that require no thought for the AI.
whenever they pair him with a goon that generates red it just feels wrong and like a spit in the face of players that know how to make good moves since almost no matter what,by AI's 5th or 6th turn you're going to take 2000-3000 damage to the face from headbutt.0 -
Took IM40 (alt build with 2/3/1, the important part being the 1 Yellow) + Psy + Human Torch. I also brought a TU that is a 1 cover Purple OBW courtesy of my Alliance mates, plus went +3 AP Red & Yellow and +3 Black & Green in the other slots. Got extremely lucky in downing the Analyst first. Taking down Juggy I had to have Psy take the Unstoppable Crash and Human Torch took the Headbutt that I could not prevent. Was able to go from there and finished with none downed, but all limping away with less than 1500 on HT and Psy. Not fun , but a victory is a victory. Still cost 2 health packs...
Forgot what level Juggy is at, but I know his Headbutt does like 4600ish dmg0 -
First time I played the board, kept having enough purple to steal green and red from juggy, using it to power thor. Second time I just got rocked with the unstoppable headbutt cascade. Really seems board dependent.0
-
I've been bringing OBW with 3 blue/purple. Accelerating recon is essential.
I'm 2 for 3 on that one. The two Sentry nodes have been considerably less fun.0
