This is kind of like when a teacher asks for an answer. The students all give right answers, but not the exact one the teacher was looking for so they are wrong icon_e_ugeek.gif

    Is the correct answer list?

    1 - variants with different abilities (not-so-lazy!)
    2 - have lazy variants
    3 - active purple abilities
4 - redheads (or helmets, hats, etc).
    5 - doctors
6 - abilities that become cheaper as you level them
    7 - gods
    8 - full-body costumes.
    9 - ***'s with <6000 health
    10 - dark avengers
11 - speedy healing outside matches
12 - shatter lots of tiles and gain AP from doing so
    13 - four-letter names
    14 - use guns

Just signed on for today and thus missed out. Well done to all those who guessed.

    Cool quiz idea!

MNmags red ability generates ap when it goes off. Don't think he is counting the purple ability which can generate blue since as you mentioned gsbw is not on that list.

Stick an answer in one of these handy spoiler boxes.
There's only one star.pngstar.pngstar.png that fits

I can't get why that answer for your chain, Jay. Any hints?
Also, Nonce, your #3 lacks cHawkeye despite having Venom.
    #9 lacks Loki.

    Some riddles of mine:
What unites these? The versions include every version unless specified otherwise.
    1. icon_bullseye.pngicon_caroldanvers.pngicon_hawkeye.pngicon_hood.pngicon_deadpool.png

    3. icon_moonstone.pngicon_blackwidow.png (original) icon_hood.pngicon_doctoroctopus.pngicon_shehulk.pngicon_spiderman.png (Bag-Man) icon_yelena.png
    4. icon_venom.pngicon_punisher.pngicon_deadpool.png
    5. icon_beast.pngicon_blackpanther.pngicon_blackwidow.pngicon_daken.pngicon_doctoroctopus.pngicon_falcon.pngicon_spiderman.pngicon_wolverine.png
    6. icon_blackwidow.png (GSBW) icon_captainamerica.pngicon_caroldanvers.pngicon_falcon.pngicon_moonstone.pngicon_nickfury.png

    9. icon_blackwidow.png (modern) icon_falcon.pngicon_spiderman.pngicon_loki.png
    10. icon_blackwidow.png (original) icon_doctordoom.pngicon_hood.pngicon_magneto.pngicon_ragnarok.pngicon_sentry.pngicon_storm.png (except Mohawk) icon_thor.png
    11. icon_thor.pngicon_storm.pngicon_sentry.pngicon_ragnarok.pngicon_moonstone.pngicon_magneto.pngicon_ironman.pngicon_invisiblewoman.pngicon_humantorch.pngicon_falcon.pngicon_doctordoom.pngicon_caroldanvers.png

    Complete the chain.
EDIT: the ">" symbol doesn't mean anything besides being an arrow, it's not the 'greater than' sign.

    1. icon_falcon.pngicon_punisher.pngicon_spiderman.pngicon_humantorch.pngicon_nickfury.png ... <- solved by J.
    Answer:
    the Hulk (complimentary colours).
    2. If Patch > Hulk, and if GSBW > Captain America (Modern), then Bag-Man?.. <- solved by J in Django chat and in his 2nd try post icon_e_biggrin.gif
    Answer:
Doc Ock (cover of the first character has the second character).
    3. icon_nickfury.pngicon_ironman.png (Model 35) icon_ironpatriot.pngicon_juggernaut.pngicon_yelena.pngicon_daken.png ...
    4. icon_storm.png (classic) icon_shehulk.pngicon_blackpanther.pngicon_ironman.png (Model 40) icon_thor.png ...
    5. icon_invisiblewoman.png > icon_humantorch.png > icon_psylocke.png > icon_caroldanvers.png > icon_colossus_new.png > icon_hulk.png > ...?

Think about how the chain would look if they all were 1/0/1 builds.

Assuming the order of their colors doesn't matter, just the colors themselves (YUP, BGR, YUP, RBG, YUP, GRB), answer should be icon_hulk.png

    Edit:
    Chain 2
    Patch>Hulk, GSBW>Cap Modern - Bagman >
If my logic is right that in the center, star.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_wolverine.png will tank greentile.png over icon_hulk.png, star.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_blackwidow.png will tank redtile.png over star.pngstar.pngicon_captainamerica.png, then star.pngstar.pngicon_spiderman.png will tank yellowtile.png over star.pngstar.pngicon_storm.png
  • Jay, chain 1 is correct, chain 2... nope.
  • locked wrote:

    Woohoo! Got it!
    star.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_wolverine.png > icon_hulk.png , star.pngstar.pngstar.pngicon_blackwidow.png > star.pngstar.pngicon_captainamerica.png, star.pngstar.pngicon_spiderman.png > icon_doctoroctopus.png

Second character appears (or is hinted at) on the first characters cover art.

    That chain could also include:
    icon_beast.png > star.pngstar.pngicon_storm.png

    Question 5 is wrong.

Peter Parker received his doctorate. As a result both ASM and Bagman are doctors.

Tony Stark has something like 7 doctorates. Or 3. Or 5. Depends on which comic your read on which day, but always an odd number.

Jennifer Walters and Matt Murdock have Law degrees which are Juris Doctoarates, so they also are doctors.

T'challa has a PhD in Physics

Dr Hank McCoy actually uses the doctor in his regular name.

I may be a bit behind (I'm on the sixth trade of Superior), but Peter Parker at least usually does not have a doctorate. Did he earn it after that point?
You are correct that Tony claims to have three doctorates (New Avengers, V.2, #29) Where else has that come up?
Lawyers with JD's are usually not called doctor, despite having "doctorates".
Correct, although rarely mentioned - T'Challa has a Ph.D. from Oxford in Physics.
Absolutely correct, although whether most authorities would respect a doctorate from the Charles Xavier school is an interesting question. I think the pure academic types would and the bureaucratic types would not.

On the whole, either my answer is wrong or the question is. If you change my answer to "generally referred to as "Doctor <something>" it is much more correct.

Maybe. I think he earns it in the back half of the Superior run. It's a whole thing where someone accuses him of stealing Ock's research.
You are correct that Tony claims to have three doctorates (New Avengers, V.2, #29) Where else has that come up?

I googled and got different answers. I didn't care to put in more research than that.
Lawyers with JD's are usually not called doctor, despite having "doctorates".

True but once I got started I was surprised how many I could find.

Hey Doctor Doom has no degree from anywhere and he gets to keep it. Hank has PhDs in Biophysics and Genetics, which I doubt the Xavier school is even qualified to teach.
On the whole, either my answer is wrong or the question is. If you change my answer to "generally referred to as "Doctor <something>" it is much more correct.

I agree with you for all except Beast. I think he pushes his Doctor credential on par with Moonstone and Hulk. I think Dr Parker is too green to judge.
