We've had a few reports of loading issues with the R61 update. If you are experiencing problems can you please provide more information?:

What device are you using?

How long does the loading take?

Are you using Wi Fi or cellular? If you are using cellular - what type (LTE, 4G, 3G, psychic powers, etc..)?

Also, please provide your geographic location (Boston, Brazil, etc.)

Thank you.

Loading takes more than 10 seconds for a fight. Didn't count startup loading time.
Using wifi at the moment but pretty sure it also happened with 4G.
    I'm in the Netherlands.

Update: just like others, after initial load of the game, covers etc and a match everything went back to normal. No extra loading anymore for me.
  • Device: Nexus 5
    Location: Austin TX, office building
    Network: WiFi
Delay: Every time the loading screen was showing, it was around 30 seconds before the next page would load. So choose an opponent... 30 seconds... set my team... 30 seconds... choose boosts... 30 seconds. End the fight... 30 seconds.

After the initial slow downs, this has sped up considerably. Oddly I also went from WiFi down to Sprint 3G and it got faster. That may be the game or just lousy WiFi. I will test Sprint LTE when I leave the building I'm in later today.
  • I've been having problems for a few days now that I assumed were my wifi (more specifically, my lousy comcast service) but may be something else now. Essentially, almost every time it has a load screen, it's been taking a good 30 seconds to a minute. I've only (or at least mainly) had this at home on wifi, using my Samsung Galaxy Note, in Florida. This started before R61, though, so it may be a different issue.

My loading issues seem to have resolved themselves, but just as a data point...

I updated this morning/early afternoon after the update came out on Android. After the update finished I tried to open the game. I got a loading screen and waited for about 5 minutes; it seemed to get stuck at about 60-some percent. I cleared the memory on my phone and tried again. I again got the loading screen, but this time after about two minutes I got into the application. From that point, visiting different tabs/events/screens would trigger the loading screen again, I would have to wait up to a minute for it to finish, then the game would come back. This happened when I visited my roster screen and when I was about to start a fight in the Hulk PvP.

Like I said, though, for me the issue seems to have resolved itself; I'm not getting the loading screen anymore. I actually assumed that it might have something to do with the end of the PvP event since I was getting these loading screens mostly from about 12:30-1pm EST.

Delay: About 10 seconds per loading screen, although the initial one is much longer. However, like rabscutle, the loading times seem a lot more manageable now - maybe the MPQ servers were just overloaded for a time?

After I pulled down the update everything was taking forever to load. The startup screen took longer then usual, then there was a two-minute load to get from the "tap to start" to actually seeing the in-game menus, and then there was a lengthy load to enter an event and again to start a fight. Most oddly, when I went into my roster, about half the portraits of characters were missing, and took about 30 seconds to show up. Similarly, when I went into my list of available covers the art was missing, and took a good amount of time to load. Since playing a few matches the load times have gone away, and no piece of art has “gone missing” twice, which is why I assumed in the main patch topic that the app size had been reduced by making the game download art assets from the server when they were first needed, instead of all at once with the executable.

Basically the same situation as CrookedKnight, with the same details except I'm on home wi-fi. I restarted the phone and it was much better after the fresh load.

Similar here, took forever to load after the "tap to start", but i didn t checked my roster. Every time i try to start a fight, select characters, select node, there was a loading screen with % that took from 30 sec to 2-3 minutes.

No artwork problems, just a match loading problem.

Same problem, assumed this was the "feature" where Android devices didn't have such a huge download size - i.e. the download was spread out and given just in time, instead of all at once. Once things are past the first long load times, it was fine, but honestly I'd prefer the one long download time instead of lots of slightly shorter ones. But whatever you need to do to reach the most devices, I guess.

Haven't seen loading screens past the first time I was looking through various screens on my Nexus 5 (2013). My phone loads to fast to notice honestly.

I play on Steam, so I'm not having any of these issues, but I just wanted to let you know that R61's Patch Notes are not live on Steam. The last set of Patch Notes was "R60 Squashin' Bugs, Balancin' Heros". Just thought you might want to know. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Nexus 7 2, on WiFi (->Comcast) and Verizon LTE, Seattle.
I get a % loading indicator opening the app that is slower than before, another one after I tap to start the game, and one before every fight.
It goes pretty quick if I'm on a solid connection. If I'm not, it takes forever.

Update: Rebooted Tablet, seems much faster now (on WiFi ATM, though).

FWIW, I had the same issue on R60 about 12 hours before updating to R61. Loading before every match. 24-48 hours prior to that, after iOS 8.0 update I also had significant screen lag entering the choose characters screen.

Loading screens everywhere, from individual fights to Accessing S.H.I.E.L.D. Servers on the new PvE just now.
