    I don't think I'll ever understand why Gambit is as popular as he is. To each his own, I guess.

    I believe it is because he is the "cool", suave, but roguish ladies man among the sea of nerds, outcasts and savages that comprise the X-men. In other words, the one X-men boys watching the X-men cartoons or reading the comics in the 80-90s wanted to be.

    Same reason some people like brooding and supposedly misunderstood characters from books named after the last light of day.

    I liked Gambit in the old 90s series for his laid-back nature and sense of humour especially in the scenes with Wolverine icon_e_sad.gif But yeah he was kinda sexy too.

    I would love to see Gambit! Card explosions, bo-staff skills! Suave talking. Plus, we're pumping out X-Men galore, right? Hahaha...after that, finish the Fantastic Four, throw in some Guardians, and then let's do some variant Spider-Men!!! Venoms, Carnages, Spider-Man that actually fights instead of shoots webs and pretends to heal you. Yeah, I like my plan.

    I like Gambit because of his romance with Rogue in the Xmen animated series. That was the first xmen cartoon I watched, and the Southern accent of Rogue and her personality just win me over. Rogue and gambit relationship was also more interesting than Cyclops-Jean Grey romance, since they were on and off.

    (Of course, until Marvel decided that Cyclops should ditch Jean grey, and get paired up with White queen. Argh, that haunted me for a while... you do not massacre a relationship just like that....)

    Kinda agree with that article, I love Cyclops with Emma Frost more than Jean Grey icon_cool.gif

    I'm still poised there's no professor x. I even gave a tease that they'd make him black like original fury, and rather than beast it would be brofessor x.

    But seriously, greatest support character ever with an infinite amount of moves he could be given, could call the xmen much like fury calls the avengers (hey! I coined it!) and is the coolest mfer on the movies, comics, tv shows, everything...I smell a 4 star

    As much as I love gambit I wish that they would focus more on marvel and less on x-men for a while, there are many other characters that would make a great addition to the game. Also more villains!!! there are some great ones out there like silver surfer, carnage, green goblin, abomination, Mephisto , black heart the list could go on.... And for a different game play they could make a character with no abilities only one that steals them like mystic, morph, apocalyptse, they can take the form of any character on the match and use their ability or steal the ability already on the board like sentry's world rupture. I would pay for a character like that.

    Looks like Gambit's getting more votes as we speak. I'm just wondering if these results will really have an effect on which characters should be put in place. Well it's up to the devs! Hoping to have a wider character set from the different story lines we have from marvel.

    If they give Gambit a decent, board-sploding, damage-dealing (not necessarily huge damage) purple ability, I will set up 2000 fake FB accounts and vote for Gambit again.

    Hmm I've heard some complaints about most of the newer characters being X-men, but this latest PVP has remarked how few of them we actually have (as in, actual story characters not just MPQ playable ones. It is little wonder that 10 out of the 17 top characters in this poll are X-men (or their enemies). Also, count me surprised that Kitty Pride is not higher in that list.
