I reached the 800 mark and I'm shielded until the end now.
It's really fun to cast Trickery after Berzerker Rage, sure, however I didn't have so much opportunities during the whole tournament.
Not enough to decide it's worth investing more iso on Loki!
I don't dislike this character though, he has some potential, sure
Maybe when he'll win a third ability, who knows

I'll also confirm insane AI cascade. I am running a 166LThor, 154LDaken, and fully covered Loki against a 2* team of CStorm, Thor, and loki. Went in full health, barely escaped with LThor the only survivor and 800 health...

I suppose that these insane random cascades explained the fact that I'm still earning points altough I'm not playing and stay shielded until the end
Really, I don't know if it's due to Loki's nature but I record a nice number of defensive wins!

I got 750 ponts early on in this event (I rarely hit 600) and shielded for 32 hours (until end of event). I'm still ranked #15 at the moment but disappointed because I haven't been attacked once this whole event. I could have gone this whole time unshielded.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but once you're shielded the only ones that can attack you are those that had you in their que at the time of you shielding or those you had previously defeated.

That would be correct.
Since there's no 32 hour shield, one can infer that at the minimum a 24 hour and an 8 hour were used, meaning there was a moment unshielded for another fight where then the player would be exposed and available to be queued up.

Yep, 24 + 8. My initial climb in points made me extremely nervous (I was struggling to reach 300 points recently) so shielded for 24 hours right away. Once that finished, I put up an 8-hour shield.

I didn't know about being invisible while shielded - is that a new thing or did I miss that described in-game?
Even so, I find it odd I was never hit for a retaliation.

Being shielded prevents others from targeting you unless you're queued or they retaliate. So at some point, you're gonna see even no attacks after a while because of how long you were shielded.

So yeah, just the AI (Patch/Loki) deny my Widow pink while target nothing but Green/Black. Yeah... it ended bad. This following a match where Magneto grabbed yellow the first 3 turns for his Protect tiles.

Probably a quirk, but if they actually added good AI to this game then we're pretty much **** given the advantages it already has.

I shielded an hour ago or so in #7 spot, not a single attack so far. And I'm gonna have to drop shield soon if I wanna try for #5 - though it'd be tricky because there are too many in the same vicinity. I'd probably need 2 40 point wins without being struck back down, and I don't have the roster to accomplish that quickly.

Edit: Woohoo, managed to pull 2 40+ point wins, the second one with an underleveled Hood / Sentry using a Berserker Rage team up leaving me open to a 40+ point defeat, and overall tied the #4-5 place 8 points ahead of #6

Okay LazyCap/X-Force/Loki just went 7 defensive wins to 3 defensive losses. Loki might actually be a near ideal third for the team on defense: he never casts trickery since there aren't any tiles, and gives the team an insanely cheap purple to cause more cascades. I was preying on poor Hulk teams all night: surgical strike into cap shield just owns everything. Wish I could try this team in shield sim: if only I didn't spend all my iso leveling X-Force...

Unshielded with 8 mins to go, got two wins for 40+ to get into 25th place and exited the win to 200 points of defensive losses from over 10 attackers. Insane. Don't plan on trying that again. Not sure how people do it.

Went from 750 up to 1220 without getting hit, shielded up with a 198 point lead on 2nd, then cracked at the last minute to break 1300, and close to 300 over 2nd. Got me a nice fluffy bracket this time. Sadly, don't need the Falcon or XF covers. Think I still needed a green baglady though.

Now to debate if I should max Falcon for his pvp or not....Took him from 125 to 150 since he was already tanking 4 things, so it's not that much further.

Sure I wasn't very interested in ranking however iso and hp are always nice...
... and I'm so used to lose ranks during night that experiencing the exact opposite is just great

I decided that sleep was more important than the event end. It's been so long since I cared to get top 5 that I didn't realize how much ISO I'm missing --- a whopping 3,500!

Long story short, I am glad I slept instead of waking up to do a 30-pt finishing match, but themz ISOs....
