why the hell would you use anyone else?
I figured out that this is the best team without having even played a single match in the tournament.
Actually I prefer Patch/She-Hulk/IM35. Patch tanks all colors except blue, which She-Hulk covers. Patch's regen + She-Hulk's faster healing rate = no health packs. If goons are in play, grab some blue for Settlement. Otherwise red/green for a Berserker Rage/Power of Attorney combo. If I've stumbled into some yellow I toss in a strike tile powered Armored Assault. Other colors? What other colors? They can have them. About the only thing that could happen that would annoy me is Payback Mission, and I usually kill Yelena first just because. There's only a few Muscles and Pyros with AoEs, and they're still scaled pretty low for me. Everything else is just damage that bounces off of Patch. Is it the absolute best team? Probably not, but it's entertaining, effective, and very efficient.

I don't get the She-Hulk hate. She might be kind of useless in PvP but she's good in PvE.
The problem is that there are at least 15 other characters that deserve one's ISO before spending any on this one, so unless you're a top 0.1% player with a big maxed out roster, your She-Hulk is unleveled which makes her useless in this event. Ditto for Daredevil. If the devs are all about "roster diversity", why give us an event where we're all we're going to do is fight 300+ battles with Patch, IM and OBW?

If he was levelled maybe he'd be a good option.

Meanwhile I'll be sticking to Patch/OBW/CStorm.
  • meh patch/shulk/cstorm all the way for me
2 aoe abilitys powered by strike tiles is enough to wipe out most enemys

Exactly one of the strategies I've been using. Patch green + Storm blue + She Hulk red = Game ova, thats it, buh bye, night night, they is D-E-D dead.

I first made the mistake of using Patch then She Hulk instead of Patch then Storm. She Hulk's red cleared half of my strike tiles so when I used Storm's blue next, it left 2 enemies standing. So always use Storm THEN She Hulk.

@ coolbond, +1 since great minds think alike.

TBH, I don't have that much of a problem with selected roster (even when half my team are under levelled/developed). Like someone said earlier, it kinda evens the playing field & gives it a challenge to adapt/change tactics. I'm not arguing it's the best in the world but it's tolerable (I'll be more frustrated with it if it limits me to using the newest released character).

I'm completely for limited roster events.

It's nice to explore different combo's of characters and get away from patchneto and sentry/hood/ldaken. I actually wish we saw more of this than we do. I'd imagine I'm in the minority here though.

Dude, the majority of these fights are against goons. They made Daredevil a featured character. Not only are they obviously putting zero thought into this, but they clearly have never even played this game before.

Not the first heroic where this has happened

    It's intended

Its supposed to be tinykitty hard. That's why it's heroic mode.

This new generation of gamers just want tinykitty handed to them. If a game as hard as contra came out now there would be tinykitty riots.

Contra? I re-raise with original NES Castlevania. (Only because Goonies 2 may be too obscure!) icon_e_smile.gif
  • Patch is unkillable in this event with 5 yellow. Even with less its damn hard to do much damage to him with how he's boosted. Obw rules pve with ap steal and increasing countdowns. You don't even need a third guy. Im using im35 just for an active yellow. You could use daredevil just to tank blue and purple for obw. Shulk red shakes up the board by destroying the bottom of the board, helping to clear countdowns and daken strike tiles. Learning to work with what they give you and using different teams than the ones you use every other event is what makes the heroic events fun.

I just proved you wrong on the last node. Maybe my scaling is worse than yours.

Super Daken makes a big difference too - you let him start to cover the board in strike tiles and even Patch starts to struggle.

That's the problem with Patch. Because he tanks and heals, scaling is going through the roof. I didn't even do the last node tonight and it jumped from 178 to 208. Trust me, level 208 Rags, Venom, and Daken can kill Patch.

im at 180 and i have to use boosts to make sure that shulk or patches dont succumb to daken

Are they really that difficult to face? I'm having a cakewalk in this Heroic PvE but I'm not exactly trying to grind it all out either for placements.

I had a 182 kill mine in ONE round. Rags got a cascade to end all cascades and Patch went from 9K point to zero before I got another move in. Going to be lvl 200+ before the event is out and I be boosting during the last hour. On the bright side its the only node that reasonably hard.
  • All the nodes with Daken is hard to beat, but if the one without 3 guys you can usually try to knock two guys out in one round with a Berserker Rage + whatever and you don't have to worry about the drawback against the third non villian who can no longer move the board. I ended up doing Berserker Rage + 2 Power of Attorney on the 3 DA nodes. Yes a level 5 TBTI can definitely knock one guy out, but knocking only one guy out is not enough when you have Berserker Rage on the board, and trying to get 3 TBTIs take way too long. Of course, I respeced to level 3 TBTI, not to mention Patch only gets 3 colors with OBW around.

Another way to approach it is Berseker Rage on the round you see a match 5, or 2 Espionage chains as that's good for about 8000 damage usually and hopefully that'll get you a good enough of a start against the inevitable pummeling. I think having the 5 level in Power of Attorney would make a huge difference because the cascades are created in the jagged portion of the tile destruction, so to speak, so the extra 3 tiles destroyed in the vertical direction will lead to much greater cascades since the first 8 or so tile just destroys the bottom row which is pretty much wasted for cascade potential.

230 Patch 3/5/5 here. Deny Red, one-shot Daken. Downs him at 187. Focus damage on Rags from start. Has worked for me so far with little hassle. With Patch, She-Hulk, Storm. He tanks most of the board.

It can certainly go smoothly. Or Rags can get off a strike tile fueled Godlike Power cascade that kills your whole team. You've been fortunate. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Tell me about it. Mostly fortunate in this game. Can't wait until update for PvE Hawkeye. Managed 5, match 5's in a single match so I can't wait to see Speed Shot get real stupid.
  • Fun MacGyverism for this Heroic event:

    IM35 casts Armored Assault. (Yellow)
She-Hulk converts IM35's defense tiles to strike tiles via Settlement. (Blue)
Patch casts Berserker Rage to stack on top of She-Hulk's strike tiles. (Green)
She-Hulk casts Power of Attorney for stupid levels of damage AoE-style. (Red).

This seems like a lot of AP needed, but you would be surprised how much AP you can when actively denying Rags/Venom and matching everything else to let Patch tank all the incoming damage... icon_lol.gif
