Happy/Sad Goodbye Time!

So, I've been on vacation with my awesome wife, and between lack of wifi in the Irish countryside and lack of sobriety in my brain, I've had to stay off MPQ for a good week. I've had a sneaking suspicion this was coming, but the forced sabbatical from the game itself only confirmed it - I've come to the end of my MPQ journey for multiple reasons:

1. Real life - potential work opportunities and wanting to devote time to other pursuits like fitness or console gaming simply don't mesh any more with the forced schedule of successful MPQ play.
2. The game has gotten beyond stale for me - no progression beyond 3*s, no new game modes, etc.
3. I've achieved all my in-game goals - other than Fury, CMarv, and Deadpool I've maxed every 3&4* cover in the game with ISO earned through blood, sweat, and let's face it, mostly tears. I've been a member of a top-tier alliance with a classy lady and a bunch of classy gents and we forced the devs to change the PvP reward structure, and that may be the thing I'm proudest of - I've run with the bulls in the OG elite tourneys and come out grinning - another 3* cover isn't going to turn me around on my current match-3 ennui; Deadpool proved that for me.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful times I've had playing and interacting with you all here and in-game. Too many people here on the forums to name by name, but to all those I've learned from, debated with, shared a laugh with, or battled in-game, I offer my heartfelt thanks.

Shout out to all the members of SHIELD past, present, and future - my life is richer for the friends I've made there. If you've got a good soul and the occasional need to turn on beast mode for new covers, you couldn't ask for a finer crew to run with - go check out the recruitment thread and reach out to the new management to get in on the awesome.

    I honestly think another game mode would have kept me around much longer as well.

    Congrats on a heck of a good run and well done on earning your place in the MPQ Hall of Fame.

    Arguably the GOAT in mpq.. I still remember the times i looked at your roster with envy.. I ve been truly honored to play along your side.. You are also one of the nicest guy i came across during my thirty years long of video gaming.. Im proud to call you my friend.. You will be painfully missed..

    I was always respected how courteous and level-headed you were on the forums, even when I was just a lurker. Yours was one of the first name I continually recognized in PvP and always skipped (well, until I had some maxed 3*'s). icon_e_smile.gif Best wishes on your new endeavors!

    you should consider passing your account onto another shield member.

    they would have to login with your Facebook account and load the save. it would require some trust, but I'm sure you know your alliance mates well enough

    then, they could make a second, new facebook and attach the save file to that one. Their save never goes away and now they have a crazy **** roster to play with. if you come back, you could just reverse the process and everything would be exactly the same again.

    I wonder if anyone's actually done that before? Or thought of it?

    I technically tied you, but I still totally beat you to top 10 global in the first Hulk event since I got there second.

    and then Nemek and Jozier had to get 4th and 8th respectively because they're totally kill joys

    2013 was really fun. I miss loving this game while wanting to be one of the best, and the forum being a giant bundle of infectious positivity. everybody trying to figure out how the Hulk scoring system worked and giving each other as much information as possible. now I pretty much hate both.

    nobody ****; just a bunch of Bros being Bros.

    look at all of the people who have zero reputation in the Hulk thread that were contributing greatly. (viewtopic.php?t=1480)

    it's a shame how many of them left more than 6 months ago. Especially Misguided. That guy was always class.

    Another legend gone.

    You will be missed and congrats to you on recognizing how stale/repetitive the game is and focusing on your health,well-being and family. Which are infinitely more important then a game that refuses to evolve and grow yet loves to leech and drain.

    I really appreciated the advice you gave when I was a newbie and enjoyed reading your posts on the forum even though I myself didn't post too much.
