Petition for Nonce Equitaur 2 to be re-appointed

For those of you who don't know, Nonce Equitaur 2 was removed from the title of Moderator due to a very needed post about the negative aspect of the game. Rather than listening to what this bright individual had to say, they responded by stripping what I consider the most liked and respected Moderator of his title. While I am rather passive, and mostly just read the forums, I don't want to stand by and watch this happen. Please, post your comments about this wrong doing. Let's show D3 how we feel about this injustice. Perhaps, they will pull their heads back into a position where the sun does shine, re-appoint someone who has taken a whole lot of time out of their own life for this game, and maybe, just maybe, they will start to consider listening to what he had to say. Thank you for your time.

This a petition I would sign.

But... is this what Nonce would want? Does he even want to be a mod again? If so, then I would support that.
  • That is a good question. I suppose I would be pretty upset with D3.
  • I'll save you the trouble. Nonce will not be re-appointed. ICEIX tried standing up for him. The decision was made above and ICEIX could not do anything about it.

But, I like the cut of giblets.

BTW, where is that community manager or whatever they are called? I hope they get Jessica Alba for that job. I also believe all future announcements should be made by video (and not the black and white Sin City style).

I would support a petition to get Nonce re-instated if he then turns it down with "In your face, lazer brain!".

Probably where the other people who have actually told ice they were willing to be mods are. Going nowhere fast

I support the enlistment of Jessica Alba as community manager.
  • If Nonce wants it back, I would support a 1000%!

But if he doesn't, I fully understand why!!
  • This isn't something I would usually spend time on but fir some odd reason I feel the urge to speak on this thread.

Nonce and I do not always see eye 2 eye. We disagree on many subjects and do not speak to each other often. He actually has many habits I fund quite annoying, no intentions of going into detail.

However, despite out differences, Nonce is a pretty selfless person. He gave a lot of his personal time to help and improve this forum. He has earned my respect from his actions, so despite our differences, if Nonce would like his UNPAID job back, then I support him. More power to you Nonce. Keep up the good work for the community.
  • Never personally interacted with him i don't think? But have to agree, considering being a mod here IS NOT a paid job, they should have considered themselves lucky to find a mod who was willing to devote so much time to these boards to try and clean it up as well as improve the game by finding out what people liked and didn't like...
  • If they did not cancel True Healing after thousands of protest messages, I doubt they will reinstate Nonce as a moderator. icon_e_smile.gif

But he has all my support. He keeps on dedicating time to the game and this forum, so once again, thank you !

+ 1 to Nonce, I was just a forum reader for a long time, before I registered.
And by that time I have noticed his major improvements to this forum.

And btw, developers - you should honor his work, that guy who voted for his removal as moderator should think twice.
I dont know why was bad to point to flaws this game has. He did it because he want you to improve this game.

Nonce thank you for your time and detication you put into this game. You made it a forum I enjoyed coming to and reading. It's almost immoral for D3 to do this. How many hours did Nonce spend taking down spam, answering questions when those at D3 would not, and generally helping his fellow players with insight? Their lack of an official response is par for the course. Nonce probably put more unpaid hours into this game than those getting paid. Let this be a warning to anyone who wants to make this community a better place. The bannings will continue until morale improves!
  • While I generally attempt to avoid hitting other forumites, I never hit Nonce even if he is worth mega points. Whether he wants the position back or not, he has my respect and gratitude for all he has done for this community.
  • I know that this reinstatement is unrealistic, I just wanted Nonce to know that we are upset, and that we appreciate everything he has done for us. D3 can't give him back the countless hours he spent on the forums. I personally hope that this doesn't cause you to leave the game, but I can understand if it did.

I think Nonce has taken this as professionally as one could expect. He has continued to provide compelling new content to these forums; witness the amazing who tanks who graph he posted earlier today.
I wish there was a way to get his name colored green again but I don't think it is going to happen.

    Thanks, everyone.

There's a lot of irony in me getting fired as a community mod for what is now the community's most-respected post. Four different Devs supported my staying on as a moderator, based on public and private messages. However, due to a solitary user mistakenly thinking that I was a paid employee, some non-forum-reading person outranking those four decided I had to have my forum-mop taken away permanently.

You'll need to convince that high-ranking, disengaged, forum-eschewing person who makes critical decisions based on deeply nested mistakes.

TL;DR: Non sequitur reasoning fired Nonce Equitaur.

Damn Nonce, you really climbed on your Reputation ranking, in fact you are almost going to hit a 1:1 ratio of post to rep.

I have to hand it to you man, I do not think I would have stayed if they had done me that way.

Back to lurking in the shadows I go. SMP starting now, gotta focus.

I wonder who that one high ranked person is, and if we could complain about the complaints to him

Then we could attribute any dip in sales to the removal of Nonce as a Mod, create the correlation and have him fired.
