  • Running with LazyDaken, CMags, and Rags right now.

This makes for a good board-control combo and, with the way my levels are, I'm tanking most of the damage to LazyDaken.

Also, your entire roster is available! I thought it would be "Villains-Only" not "Villains-Boosted".

Works for me, my only maxed villains are 2* Magneto and Daken.
    MMN is not villainous.
  • This format is probably better than the version where only villians are usable, and can probably also provide insight for D3 as to who is overpowered. If you continue to see level 166 characters being used when level 332 guys are available, that's probably a good sign that character is overpowered.

Too bad Sentryhoodaken and cMagneto are already OP.

I think you'd see that effect a bit more if this were a heroes boosted one. People would still run Daken.
As it is, Daken/Sentry/CMags are remarkably powerful, and in combination Sentry/Daken/Hood is strong too. Aside from Patchneto, I can't think of a ton of other hero 166s that would be used a lot in this, provided the players have the boosted villains as well.

Yeah, I expect the top teams to all be 3X332 in this event, but I'm sure if it was heroes only or better yet Avengers only you'd still see Daken around.

A Daken that doesn't tank any colors when Thor + Lazy Cap + Hulk have 8 gabillion HP isn't nearly as useful. Not sure if he would see much play in either case at the top levels.

Daken will always get purple and black from Thor + Cap, and I'm not sure why you'd want Hulk in an event where it'd likely be impossible to trigger his Anger from Daken.

Screw Sentry, cMags/Daken/Hood. Remember how awful the Hood/Mags node in TaT is when they're level 300? Add some strike tiles, and good lord

    or at least I hope

That might be better for defense than offense. For offense the time it takes you to go through all those Magnetized Particles will be aggrevating to yourself too.

Yep. Buffed characters get their levels doubled.

This PVP should've been called Double Trouble.
  • OK, opinions please: I do not have more than 1-3 covers for CMags/LDaken, so they're not going to be in my rotation. I have a 5/0/2 Hood softcapped at 102 and 3/2/2 Sentry softcapped at 89. I also have a 4/4/5 Ares at level 15. For non-villains, I have maxed 2* of OBW, Hawkeye, CStorm, Thor, and Wolvie, plus Steve Rogers at 114 (2/4/3) and Human Torch at 102 (4/2/2). Should I spend 70k ISO-8 to level Ares to 94? Should I just sit this one out? My inclination is to not level Ares, since I already have Thor and Wolverine in that position of my roster. For this event, I would use Hood+OBW+Steve Rogers on offense (missing green...could swap HT for Steve, but then there's less synergy with Hood), and try to end each session with a Hood+Sentry+HT or something for defense... any thoughts?
  • Seems like a perfect tournament to dust off bagman

Will have to wait until the end. Bagman doesn't get out of bed for less than 1500 pts
  • Any one lse coming up with the issue where it would not give you any opponents that had started the event? for a while I was having to skip at the beginning to get any points. Or is that because no one is playing yet?

Currently swapping between Max cMag Max little Daken, and Max Ares, and Max cMag Max Hood, and Max Ares.

Depends if my opponent is running the hood or not.

Darn, you're right. That leaves me with Hood (204), Ares (187) and Daken (156). Only reinforces my relief that all characters are available icon_neutral.gif
  • I think this event is going to get a pass from me. I don't need Psylocke covers and I don't need the hassle of fighting Sentry/Daken/Hood in every freaking node. I might try for 400 for HP but that's about it.

Why are the rewards for the villian tournament 1100 a Human Torch and the prizes are Psylocke? Because of the PvE? Rewards should be villians. Hell, should be Sentry, then at least you are incentivized to play vs Sentry for the covers.
  • On the bright side, scores of 2k+ should be doable for X-Men, and all the HP spent on boosts and shields should buy devs more time to fix bugs and come out with new exciting content!!!

I think I'm going to skip this one. I don't have a usable LDaken or Hood, my CMags and Sentry are marginal, and it's not like a couple of Psylocke covers are going to make or break my roster. Time to take a breather before the next season starts.
