If the top 2 spots were for another xforce or iw, no one would be complaining about that. The fact that it's Fury shouldn't make a difference. Sure, he's the first useable 4*, but he's still a 4*, and that's where the 4* prizes have always been - a rare prize to achieve. I don't understand what the issue is.

Now, making Fury an essential, that's not cool at all, and I'm speaking as someone who has Fury covers. His release was far too rare to warrant that. The ONLY thing that it does help is that all the 1* rosters that dominate due to easy scaling probably don't have him, so it balances that out slightly. Still not right though.

Pretty much. I guess I could get lucky and end up in a bracket where very few people have Fury.

On preview, top 300? Okay, that's doable. Patch covers will be hard to come by, but what the hell. I got twelfth place in The Hulk without punisher, I can get a red out of this at least.

I wonder if they give a chance to the guys who are away on vacation not to miss any new stuff, or if they think guys should relax and max their old characters before having new ones...

They spent SO MUCH TIME trying to fix Team Up, they did not have the time to create a new character.

A Lazy Hawkeye (or any cool Lazy Character) could have been cool if they were short of time.

I'll be playing this one for tokens. Boosted Fury chances and all. Other than that, I'm not going to both trying to get top 2, I don't need Patch covers, I'll only need the Red Torch if the PVP goes worse than I'm expecting.

I wish Captain Marvel and/or Deadpool were in the tokens. They're the only 3*s I need more than a couple of covers for.

Well I sort of called it but I assumed at that time they be giving everyone a fury cover in the hulk event on the unlock. Any how many moons ago - like 8/9 months - they used to have IW as an essential and I was out of luck on those nodes.

Well, if you're cover hunting, the key prizes are the tokens. The ISO-8 Brotherhood token is preferable (slightly) as it gives a lower chance for a 2*, and it also gives you a chance to get Fury instead of Wolverine (X-Force) or IW. I just crunched the numbers, though, and the chance is slightly lower than a 3* or better in this than the usual for PVE - the 2*/3*/4* chance is 82.3%/15.9%/2.3%. For example, Thick as Thieves was 77.9%/20.5%/2.4% and The Hulk was 80.7%/17.7%/2.4%

OTOH, The Hulk was brutal to get the Event token - you needed to be in the top 50, and all but 4 of the instances were 12 hours instead of 24. I got the Event token like, once, and I missed the "Heroic or Better" tokens on two.

Grrr... the one patch cover I need happens to be green, and without Fury, pretty much unobtainable. Ah well, what can you do?

Yep.

So just for the record, IW was introduced during the 2nd Unstable Iso run. She was a Top 50 reward for a 1000 player bracket. She was the required character for the next PvE, The Hunt, which introduced Punisher.

So yes, Fury's general release wasn't as wide as IW's, but I guess the devs believe this is evened out by the fact he was a season reward for top alliances.

I'm not sure what's the reason to put him for PvE at this point, but if they nerfed Magneto you could expect a significant amount of revenue generated via health packs/boosts because the rate you've to fight the PvE encounters is not sustainable without him, and a lot of those nodes are hard enough to wear even Magneto down if you don't have Falcon and Daken both maxed.

Patch/Daken laugh at the idea of needing healthpacks to grind PvE even without Mags.

You could join a top 100 alliance at the end? Mine has a little brother alliance and I know a lot of us don't need patch so we'll be swapping some guys in/out. Just a thought for you to try

Patch isn't very good without Magneto, and Daken is limited by Falcon, not to mention he's unusable half of the time in PvE nodes that are DA themed.

24 hours is enough time for rubberband to kick in though you won't ever catch up to the guys who just grinded every 2.5 hours for 24 hours, but those are usually in the top 2 range in terms of craziness. The rest is still fair game, though not being able to get top 2 takes a lot out of this event.

I've been going 5/5/3 with Patch for a long time but recently decided to switch to 5/3/5 because it's increasing difficult to put together a team where Patch can even get 3 colors reliably as your roster become developed. The level shift also killed anything clever you could've done with keeping certain guys underleveled enough for Patch to get the colors. I also don't like the idea of using lower level characters when I have a bunch of them at level 166, and if I need to put a fancy team to just win I can just use Magneto instead.

For the record, I had a full 2.5 refresh schedule the entire event, missing exactly five hours when I went out on a saturday. I played about as hard as you can expect and still didnt get a fury, but figured, hey, one fury cover is useless, and there is no way they would be insane enough to make him required...

That 11th hurt my soul and now double hurts my soul.
