D3P Devs: Why have you not announced the boosts nerf?

  • To nobody's surprise, the boost nerf coincides with a string of ultra-competitive events.

Curious as to what the new boost/health pack/shield purchase metrics are post-R58.

Especially when Sentry/Hood is Top Tier.
  • It won't be long before some of the most useful TUs will be very rare to get and they will be buyable with either ISO or HP.

I'm betting they will sell TUs at some point in time.

I'd like to introduce a theory here. I haven't tested this in any way, but it occurred to me that what may be happening is that the TUs tray being full is stopping the game from giving us boosts. I've given up on using TUs until they introduce some management tools (Delete button? Hello?), so my TUs are full all the time, and I can't remember getting a boost drop since TUs came out.

Are people with multiple open TU slots not getting boosts either? Not just one open slot, because going from 19 to 20 may cause the same problem. And has anyone who has gotten a boost recently gotten a TU at the same time? Inquiring minds want to know, particularly the ones who are way too lazy to do any testing themselves. icon_e_smile.gif

I tried to test that with my backup account (14 days logged in, underleveled 1* roster). Logged in for the first time since S3 ended, received the starters' TUs, including Avengers Assemble, total 6/20. Spent a few games in Versus, beating seed teams, but all I received was other TUs and no boosts. I didn't play nearly enough games, but I almost died with boredom while whittling down seed teams icon_lol.gif

    Yeah, I noticed this too.

I still haven't received a single boost via random drop. It'd be nice to hear if this was intended or not.
  • That would really suck...

I've still gotten boosts (even rainbow boosts), but I didn't keep track of how many.

From what I understood, we still get boosts which can be purchased with HP, but not the ones which can be bought with ISO.

Boosts are with Sentry/Hood what Healing was with OBW.

If you can win matches in more or less a minute, just using boosts, D3P will not like it (and same for the players who get it enlessly by Hood/Sentry).

Can you explain me how to "win in a minute"?
World Rupture costs 7 green AP.
    Sacrifice costs 8 yellow AP.
The maximum AP you can get using boosts is 3 green and 3 yellow.
A match gives you only 3 AP, which means you need two green and two yellow matches to be able to cast Sacrifice & World Rupture. If you're extremely lucky, yes, you might make 4 matches in a minute, but the animations alone take 24 seconds (I chrono-ed them).
So I'd say either they changed something before I got to max my Sentry, or you're all vastly exagerrating Sentry's wins per minute ratio.

Hmm I recently gotten a green/ black AP boost from drop. So I don't think it's true that only hp purchased boosts are available.

However it's true that the drop rate has decreased significantly for me.

Use the following boosts:- 3 R/Y boost, 3 G/B boost and 2 all color boost.

You only need to match 1 yellow and 1 green to activate world rupture and sacrifice combo.

If the board is good, you can do the combo on the 3rd turn. On 5th turn, all opp are wiped out.

That can take less than a min. (5 turns and animation).

There's no such thing as a 3AP boost or a 2AP all color boost. Only 1AP 2 colors (200 ISO) and 1AP all colors (100 HP).

Don't tell me you haven't noticed that you can stack 3 in each boost slot?

Uh, you know you can spend up to three of each of the AP boosts, right? That's what the little "boost more" button underneath does once you've chosen a boost.
  • LOL, I wasn't trolling. I really didn't notice stacking boosts is possible.

Your shield-hopping just got three times easier. icon_e_wink.gif

Actually, no. I lost the first two matches to the AI cascading me out of nowhere and removing Sentry's tile. I was careful to clean up most yellow tile on the board and to play Sacrifice in the 2nd round of World Rupture, so it was a freak occurrence. I wouldn't go so far as to call it cheating, after all, I won the rest of my games and eventually landed the Deadpool cover I was aiming for. Kinda expensive at 525 HP, but that's due to me losing my boosts for nothing, panicking and shielding after a single win afterwards icon_e_smile.gif
