Bots, goons, foot soldiers..

Family Reunion VIII has a brand new villain, Empiricist who looks AWESOME! I really hope they add him as a character coming up soon.

Abilities

Unstable Blasts - 7 Red
The Brotherhood Experiment channels a wild burst of energy, dealing 263 damage, or 525 damage if there are more than 5 Strike tiles.

Detonate - 16 Black
Amplified by Unstable Iso-8, raw power tears forth from the Brotherhood Experiment, doing 438 damage to himself and all enemies.

Awesome Patches/Wolvie counter.

  • Is he 2 star or 3 star?
  • he is a minion
  • 1* NPC. Seems like he's from Brotherhood, so he should be affected by boost.

Like Maggia and HAMMER mooks, the Empiricist gains set AP and his powers create countdown tiles.

It might be interesting to see some NPCs that act more like player characters, possible boss-fight-only characters, but I'm glad to see some new varieties added in any case.

    An NPC generating Red is so nasty o_o;;;;
  • In the main mission there's also a NPC called "Control" that has the same abilities.

I thought it was pretty unimaginative to give them the exact same abilities.

… and to make them all be level 230 no matter what. icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Turn 3 Rampage from a level 230 Ares... because we have the tools to respond to that...
  • Hi there!
Some guys from H.A.M.M.E.R. (if not all) do not move gems in their turn.
How they get their gems colors to fire their powers?
    What is the rules here?

    Thank you.

They automatically get a certain amount of AP each turn.
  • "Certain amount" ?
    It's random?

It depends on the type of enemy. Some enemies will get 1 green + 1 black AP per turn, others will get 1 green + 1 purple, for instance. The amount they get is consistent, but each enemy gets a different amount based on their type.
  • I find that usually a goon with only 1 color gets 2 AP of that color, and people with multiple colors get 1 of each. Some guys just get 2 AP of multiple colors because they're just that much cooler than the rest. And then there are the Snipers who actually don't need ANY AP (their ability cost 0) but they get 2 green AP anyway, just because they can.

I disagree. It varies for each one, but they all gain a point each round for any powers they may have (even if that power is a passive that costs them no AP).

As an example, a Single Maggia Thug only uses Pistol, so he generates 1 Yellow AP per round, but 3 would generate 3 AP.
Mutant Criterion generates Shadow Knives & Detonate, so he generates 1 Purple AP & 1 Black AP.

It's more noticeable if you are using a Widow & stealing AP from them each round to block their attacks.
