So I bought a She-Hulk 10pk...

yep! If people continue buying packs while complaining about not getting the featured character or, god forbid, being happy to get X-Force, nothing will change.0

If you want to spend money, buy covers directly. Do not buy cover packs, they're too much of a gamble when more than 50% of the roster is not on the same level as the other 50%.0
-
63.7%.
Assuming odds per pull of 4.4% for the featured hero, that's your odds of getting no covers for that hero. You barely have a 1:3 chance of getting a single She-Hulk cover. If it's at 6.6%, you're at least at 1:2 odds. Which is still abysmal, for those not keeping track, given that you're dropping about 20 bucks for that.0 -
I earned a Hero 10 in Season 2 and it came with 4 Spidey Bagmans ... and I was so disappointed. I was grinding so hard and spent a lot of time playing.
I instantly told myself that I would never buy a 10 pack given the percentages and success ratios... on should I say Unsuccessful ratios.
I'm happy to read that I am not alone in my pain.
I am really close to deleting the game, its has caused me so much heartache, especially now with the nerfing of Spidey and OBW.0 -

It went from guaranteed to 25% (IIRC) then 6.something % and now an almighty 4.4% chance per draw of the featured hero!!! I think they're how far they can go and have ppl buy them.
Basically don't buy them, they are a rip off.
At this point, I honestly don't understand how we are supposed to level anyone at all. You can sacrifice your real life to place in the top 10 of events, and get whoever they feel like handing out.... or you can get like one useable 3-star every two weeks. Meanwhile, to do that you face enemy teams of maxed out Patch/Thor/Magneto. It's hell.0 -
I only really buy packs until a character I don't have yet is included. Now since the 10 pack doesn't guarantee the (new) character, I could be tempted to purchase 40 pack, however I'm holding that off as long as possible i.e. for Nick Fury.0

how much money do you dole out on a suppose "free to play"?0 -
10 packs are lousy value and lousy odds. The fact that they are apparently making more money this way (and if they weren't, they wouldn't keep doing it) shows you how much the majority of people prefer the thrill of gambling on the unknown to doing things which are mathematically sensible.0

I meant I'll consider for the 42 pack where it guarantees 2 covers. Like I said, it's a last resort on the only character needed to be recruited (for specific nodes/events) if I hadn't won it from a handful of events. So far I only ever bought a 10 pack (once before the change & another after) both receiving the exclusive character. I rarely support these megapacks.0

I wouldn't have bought a 10 pack if I already had a cover for She Hulk. Keeping up with the masses propelled me to do so. Won't be doing that again lol0

Spending money on this game in its current state =/= a good idea.0

I seriously doubt it's the majority. I think for every 2 people that won't buy a pack with these odds, there's one guy that's still willing to buy 3 packs to get what he wants. Less customers, but equal or higher revenue.
Personally, at $40 and a 37% chance to win the character I want, I expect Demuirge to comp my drinks.0 -
I had two 10 packs as rewards and those only further convinced me they are terrible. If you want 2* covers just play pvp. Purchasing desired covers outright is the best way to go. of course you can only buy a cover of you have a cover.
If you missed out on a new character, which will not take long to be featured and essentially required to compete in pve, i can see purchasing a tokens or covers packs out of desperation to compete. In some cases trying to not get kicked from an alliance. We at least should be able to play with a single covered donor like in pvp or better odds at getting the required character. It's also only occurring on esssential pve nodes so you miss out on the most points.0 -
D3 will never increase the odds back to the way they were because their almighty "metrics" are telling them that people are buying more cover packs now than they were when there used to be a guaranteed hero. What I don't think D3 realise is that this increase isn't because people love the thrill of opening packs and seeing if they get lucky. The reason is that D3 basically make it impossible for you to place well in a PvE if you don't have the featured hero, and some people are so desperate to place well they will buy multiple 10-packs until they get lucky enough to get the hero they want.
D3, wake up and realise it's not the thrill of opening packs driving sales, it's desperation from your players who want to do well in tournaments where you restrict the amount of points they can win without the featured hero. Change the odds back and create a happy player base again, if you care about that at all.0 -

Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.0 -
10x the actual chance would still be kind dumb to purchase ...
2.2% is just for starters ... the chances are that you are pretty much guaranteed to not get anything good0 -
System is working as intended, players must grind this game and spend some nice change to progress in this game. Locking players out of events to progress unless they get the required character is a brilliant way to drive them to spend unnecessary money in the cover lottery. On that note om asking myself why I haven't purchased xcom for android for $10 which is a one time full purchase of a complete game with depth and replay value.
It's becoming clear that this game just wasn't made for me despite the fact it's just bejeweled with a marvel license. Clearly I don't spend enough money on IAP to have any chance of progressing in the game. Since December I have invested a total of over $40 in this game and I feel that's MORE than enough for a dam match 3 mobile game.0 -
You lucked up at least opening one 3*. I did the same for the MoStorm 10 pack and opened 10 2*s. It is obviously the last time I ever buy packs.0

I am a F2P player on day 191 (Yea 25 hero points today) and I have found this game very satisfying. I have been able to develope an extremly deep roster 9 maxed 2** and 7 playable 3* characters, 34 characters overall. I consistantly achieve top 10-25 in PVP and top 25-50 in PVE and I only joined a 20 team alliance at the end of season 2. Yes if you P2W you will build up a roster faster than I have, but the game is still set up to let all sorts of players get great rewards. I have gone through the frustration of MMR hell, and for anyone in the 2*-3* transtion I would just say be patient build up a lot of 2* characters, only use 3 hour shields so you can open up roster slots and eventually the glass ceiling will open up on your 3* characters. If you don't have the Patience for this that is why you have the option to PAY TO WIN!!!0
