That's what remote access programs like Jump Desktop are for.

Yeah... No. I don't think you want to open up a remote desktop interface to the web. Feel like getting sniffed and hacked much?

And even if you did have a secure enough setup (encrypted VPN, etc.) you're not actually allowed to use that kind of stuff from the office, are you? Big security breech connecting to unsanctioned networks or systems like that. And if you're found out, you can probably expect disciplinary matters at best. Moreover, you cannot really smuggle in a few rounds of play in the office without people walking buy noticing it, or sys admins logging a weird IP connection to your home systems.

You're advocating PC players will just have to risk breaking company regulations if they want a fair shot at playing a game. It's all a bit harder to swallow for a company than you taking your phone with you to the toilet for an extended #2...

I'm curious why this comment was rated down. Some of us work for high tech companies and using company resources to play games at work is strictly forbidden. Even if you play on your phone, it's not practical for many to put in 20 minutes of play every 2.5 hrs to play optimally (either due to refresh timers or health pack regen). The devs keep making changes that make the game harder to play casually on your own terms. I like to play in the morning before work and in the evening after work. If that doesn't line up with event end times I'm screwed for rewards. Unless there is good rubberbanding for PVE, I also have a hard time keeping up with 'optimal play'. I really wish they would try a new format that was truly PVE and you could run through the nodes at your own pace and are not effected buy other's scores. i.e. it would be all progression award based and have bonues based on heros used and good gameplay.

I'm not advocating anything at all for office drones who get monitored by their employers the same way D3 monitors its players. Believe it or not, some of us have jobs that treat us like human beings.

Plot twist - Ghast works for D3.

Exactly the kind of accusation I would expect from an undercover Demiurge employee.

You have planted the seeds of dissent, watered them with vicious lies and now you are watching them grow into the gnarled oak of a twisted metaphor! I'm on to your game now.

Well, I guess SOME people with job just do work during work time even without being monitored or being forbidden to do certain stuff.

And remote desktop programs are okay on your local network for convenience, i certainly would not use one over a nonlocal network -- so the statement about they would be FOR accessing home PC from work PC to play is generally false.

It's also forced me to alter my playing habits so that I'm playing more frequently, but for shorter periods of time, and starting PVPs earlier. How is any of this bad?
In other words; The game is now playing you, instead of you playing the game.

Also, could you please comment on how players of the Steam/PC edition are supposed to be playing 'more frequently' over the course of the day?

I'm a Steam player and I only played the last PVE sub twice a day and finished 2nd in my sub. It's possible to be successful without marrying yourself to the game. Mobile users don't have this astronomical advantage over Steam users that you seem to think they do.

I've been playing MPQ since September and I remember only having one star characters, grinding day in and out for 2 stars, now they handing out 2 stars like government assistance for baby mommas. I'm getting tired of all the 3 star grinding, and then you have killed almost every 2 star that was remotely special. I'm not going to quit but I'm not grinding anymore and I'm very disappointed this great game became what it is today.

Game wasn't even around in September.

That cover change must have come pretty quickly then? I remember that I started in mid-october, after it had already happened

The game soft-launched at the end of August in certain territories.
