Could you see them when you skipped matches though? If you can't see them, they can't see you. It may be less about charity and more about your luck of being at a matchmaking rating which no other real competitor was around to fight with you over it.

Not even close... I immediately pumped him up to 2 red, but I only have enough HP for one more cover and I'm split on improving him (4/2 atm) or Spidey (1/3/3). I can make a case for Spidey's blue or maybe his yellow (hope to get that from 1100 reward though). Both are max level right now, Rag at 64 and Spidey at 66. I have 2340 HP, already bought a spare cover slot (#30), and expect to get 150 - 700 HP from the Double Shot tourney.

Suggestions welcome.

the more you win getting to 500-600, the more ur mmr goes up, with ppl similar to around that level most likely.

both DDD, and prototype came up for me. i didn't see hiiiiiiiiiiiii tho, which i'd expect in the same mmr range with DDD

I don't expect anyone to help me out, this is a competitive game and I can't fault anyone for trying to win for any reason. That would be like playing in a poker tournament and telling your opponent they should let you win because they're rich and you need the prize money more. I by no means have a super-powered team, went into this week's lightning round with lv70 rags, lv 41 magneto, and lv 69 Daken team. Through strategic planning I wound up winning 8 magneto covers and 1 rag cover, by purposely bombing the non-mag/rag rounds. If you were getting knocked out by super-powerful teams, maybe you were the one who made the mistake of letting yourself get into their matchmaking bracket for the tourney you were trying to win?

I do this in shield to tank my rating occasionally.

I don't care what you do but tiny kittying up the lightening rounds is really bad form imo. Even at 1000 large, brackets generate more covers in one event than the lightening rounds do in months.
