    That hasn't actually been confirmed. There's a possibility (or rather a hope) that nothing will. That they will leave Ixalan and that will be the new size of standard and they'll start rotating things out again after that. But as far as I know all our queries on the topic have been unanswered.

    We do not need confirmation on this.  It has been stated multiple times that the Standard rotation is a
    one-in-one-out thing.  Once a new set comes in the oldest non-Origins set in standard leaves (note MTGPQ stopped caring about blocks back in Kaladesh and treats each expansion as a new set)

    I don't get why this needs to be restated every single time a new set drops.

    It needs to be restated NOW because up until now they were getting rid of Hibernum sets.
    This is the _first_ time things have been 100% Oktagon design and they get to decide the new size of standard now.
    Prior to this part of the priority was getting rid of old stuff.

    So it is absolutely different right now than the other times.

    But blocks haven't existed in MTGPQ since Innistrad.  Both Kaladesh, Amonkhet, and Ixalan blocks came out separately here and are treated as completely different sets by the game. 

    I doubt this was originally done to prepare for WoTC ending the block structure, but it certainly makes the transition easy.

    Not exactly.... blocks are now as large or small as Wizards wants them to be. Dominaria was one set, Return to Return to Ravnica is a three set block. Blocks don't have a definitive size, which makes the one-in, one-out rotation PQ established the easiest way for players to anticipate what will be legal, as well as makes balancing standard less tricky. Fewer cards means fewer chances for interactions that are toxic or game breaking. Especially considering they don't directly translate the cards from their paper format, keeping the pool smaller makes their job easier.

    Not exactly.... blocks are now as large or small as Wizards wants them to be. Dominaria was one set, Return to Return to Ravnica is a three set block.     Ixalan is actually the last true Block. They switched back to a 3-and-1 format. Ravnica will be similar theme but will not be considered a block. Mburn drove home the point I was trying to make. It's been a 1 for 1 since the switch to standard.

    I can see why this set is taking a bit longer for them lots of interesting cards more mechanics than usual I think it will be one of the best sets we will have hopefully

    I just hope it is because they are taking extra time to make sure that there are no major bugs and that the cards actually work as intended.

    I spent all my crystals on the Eldrazi planeswalker, never going to use him, but I'm thinking I can probably get all those crystals back (and more) before they release a new set worth spending them on

    Exactly if it’s rushed won’t be good, take all the time should be amazing

    I bought Nissa, not Eldrazi he ain’t that good tell me does he still not have green if you use him other events?

    He works the same as Karn in other events (or so I'm told).  Number of colors is node dependent.

    That being said I think his mana gains are too low to be useful anyway, especially with how expensive Eldrazi cards are.

    Nissa, on the other hand, is quite fun to use.  I'd get her if I wasn't waiting to get Vivien when she comes out
