Update on your Bolas lvling

    I haven't bothered leveling him at all (thank goodness for not having Hour of Devastation event where you must play him, like Samut and Elspeth), but maybe someday. I have more than enough Runes to get him maxed out right here and now.

    I have all planeswalkers and they are all maxed out. I have 1 million runes left still.

    I don't have all of them, and I could use more runes to level the ones I have that aren't 60 yet, but I'm not complaining... :)

    I can't remember the last time I played with a PW that wasn't level 60. Maybe I should try it with the next one?

    It's actually more interesting and fun to level them up slowly and play with them along the way.

    sometimes it's more fun to keep them at a lower level and have a few battles against other players that don't involve playing and facing off against the best cards in this game and ultimate combos.

    I do enjoy frolicking through the rookie fields from time to time :)

    I've not played a level lower than 60 for my PW in ages.  I think I'll hold back a bit this next set and try to enjoy the journey rather than skip to the destination like I usually do.

    I finally maxed him out last weekend. Now I'm going for nissa3 and sarkhan, then I'm done and ready for Ixalan :)

    That last extra mana gain makes a huge difference IMO. I was going to leave mine and a teammate convinced me to max him — so glad I did. 
    Hmmmmmmm, alright I've got a bit more motivation now to begin that climb :)
    As you say though, that's 2 deck slots...

    Was going to keep him at 52, but been playing heroic encounters and woo, that's a lot of runes. Took him up to 53 and may go a bit higher. I'll eventually get to 60.

    I play him a lot, and since I was always facing 60’s there was a strong incentive to finish him off.

    I left my Bolas at level 1 in anticipation of a PW event using him, but it's looking like that won't happen. Kinda disappointing :(

    Every time a new one comes out, I say I will do this, but then I play like 2 rounds at level 30 and see all of the cooler stuff my coalition-mates are doing with it maxed and I have to max it. With Bolas -- he was great at 55, but then someone started talking about taking that last -2 to -1 and how much better he was and I had two matches where I got mana denied and I had to do it. Also I like to help @octal9 fill in his data for mtgpq.info.

    I can't keep a PW below 60. I did with several of them for a long time, but only because I didn't have the resources. The increased rewards rate for the holidays allowed me to finally cap them all off, and then get even more runes on top of all that, so now I'm fully caught up and I've got 320K in the bank.

    Yeah, this is exactly my problem. I like having access to the cooler loyalty abilities.

    In my personal opinion, his rune cost was a bit ridiculous. That said, I don't ever leave a pw below 60 unless I don't have the runes. I got him to 52 right out of the box and took about 2 weeks to Max him. I'm not a grinder, though, so that was strictly events and dupes. The last mana bonus is quite a big deal. Plus, it's not as if runes are money. They're for levelling pws. Once he's maxed, you don't ever have to think about it again. If you have a bunch of pws to level, I could see not wanting to pump the runes into him. He is ridiculously expensive.
