With Gem Conversion generated by the Grafstone, Hixus will not survive long. Also it has a bad synergy with Cast Out because if you have locked a creature with the latter it will be enabled if you play Hixus and it breaks.
I think Gideon's Defeat with its two shieds is a better choice for your deck (or the less effective but uncommon Sandblast)
I would also suggest two other replacements : Dunes of the Dead by a creature with more impact than a 2/2 with no additional ability, and Prophetic Prism by Forsake the Wordly which will provide support disruption (it seems everyone plays Omniscience now...) and can be cycled away for 1 if you need another card
