I am not l33t enough with spreadsheet magic to figure out how to get the ISO column to automatically recalculate ISO costs when I increment the level. Or, rather, I know of a way to do it, but it's suuuuuuch a kludge. It's been easier for me to just manually type the level in one column and then adjust the named range that calculates ISO by removing a cell (or more, as necessary) from that range when I add levels.
And because anymore I'm going from 130 to 166 or 125 to 166, that means the ISO need is getting zeroed out when I add levels, so there hasn't been the urgency to figure out how to get the ISO column to automatically update with changes.
This sounds incredibly complicated and full of chances for whoopsness. Here's the sheet that I'm using with the appropriate Excel magic:Spoiler0 -

With you so far, and that's basically what I'm doing. Except what I'm doing is naming a range after the character, with that range comprising the ISO from 130 or 125 to 166 for 3*, and from wherever they are to 270 for 4*. then I just have to go =SUM(SheHulk) or something to link it back to the main spreadsheet. That keeps my main page cleaner and makes it less of a headache for me linking pages.
Don't do this, but I should; I always forget about champion costs.
My spreadsheet has three worksheets that are relevant for this. One is the roster list: name, covers, level, status (dupe, fully covered, optimally covered, TU, champion). The second is ISO costs per level, based on rarity. The third is a list of rarities, with their max level and champion cost.
The formulas for ISO spent and ISO left are fairly complicated, but based on lookups (google 'excel vlookup' for details) into the other two worksheets. So everything is automatically updated when I change the level. Or change status to Champion. Took me half an hour to an hour to debug each of them.0 -

My first worksheet has the roster in one column, levels in the next (X/Y where X is current level and Y is the highest level the character could achieve), the ISO needed to reach the character's current level cap in the third, and the final three columns are devoted to covers in the relevant power, so I can see at a glance what the build is.
Second worksheet has the ISO per level so I can create a range for each character and then name it (as previously discussed), so that that named range feeds the "ISO needed" column and I don't run the risk of having the wrong argument in a given cell.
I do that twice, once for 3* and once for 4*, but when I have the time/boredom, I may consolidate those.0 -

I expect to be firmly back in the ISO middle class since I just championed my last eligible 3* and my closest 4* is Ant-Man at 11 covers (but I need exactly two blue).0

That is exactly what popped into my head when I read the thread title.0 -
i use this one weird trick called vlookup MS Excel function so that the ISO needed for each char updates automatically when I update the char's level.
