As a result where two characters are shown doing 50 damage one may be doing 50.2 and the other 50.4. You can see this behaviour because not all the damage you do with tile matches is divisible by 3. So there are obvious fractions and rounding in play.

I used my level 6 Bullseye and level 6 Moonstone, both had 6 damage in purple. I found out that the character put in the middle actually is the person who makes the matches for the color. They were both just level 6 though, but Bullseye only goes up to 69 rather than 85 like Moonstone. I need to do more testing, but I don't have any more characters near the same level with both matching colors.
