Yesterday I played football. That game is so unfair. Most of the time I didn't get the ball. And when I got it, these guys on the other team didn't let me do a touchdown but instead they tried to tackle me.
I never asked them to be tackled. That's so unfair!

As someone stuck in 2* land, this is my experience every single pvp if I bother fighting up as high as I can before my healthpacks and character pool runs out. I was even skipping most of the PVE content to focus on pvp matches to try to regain the points i was constantly losing. Now after reading the forums quite a bit (what else is there to do after true-healing?), I've realized I'm just barely going to place top 25. So I sit right around that point, and if I'm awake I try to make one last quick push just before the event ends. I put in 1/5 of the matches in the last couple pvp events as I had been, which allowed me to pick up my pve game again. (no more trying to do events without the required charcter given as the prize in the one before. that's tinykitty annoying...)

Shields are just simply not a real option for a 2* transitioning player, except as others have pointed out once in a blue moon for a reward that feels critical. That being said, don't fight right up to first place. The target on your head just becomes too big at that point, and it isn't worth it.

I 'play to play' too, and it's frustrating to have so much time I would like to be using to build my characters, but coming here to the forums to gripe instead. I feel your pain, I've been there. We just have to adapt as best as possible.

I agree, the thing that got to me was the amount lost in such a short period of time. Shield is not an option for that situation. There is just nothing you can do when you get hit so many times while you are in a battle. That is the most frustrating part.

I'm not taking sides, but as we all.know, got to be careful guessing tone from written words. If you lots of thugs otherposts, you'll see he's not a troll, and his intent was not to upset you.

Yes it is. The thing is, I'm talking about a large amount of points lost in a very short span of time and it seems like he keeps going on about shielding. It would not have helped in my situation and it just kept coming up.

I'm sure he is not, but coming in to vent and being told what to do, when it would not be helpful in that situation, really didn't help.

First of all, take a deep breath. You're pissed. Understandable. But you came here asking questions like you didn't know what was going on and now you're lashing out at the people trying to give you answers. And now you're answering your own questions. Yes, you can try to play at off-peek times. You can try using better defensive teams. You can try climbing quickly with hard hitting offensive teams and then shielding. There are ways to play where you can minimize your loses. But the bottom line here is that what you're raging about it just simply the rules of the game, and they're the same rules that everyone else is playing with as well. You can either adapt and learn to work the system the best you can, or you can walk away. Or you can keep doing what you're doing and just be really mad. That's your choice.

Actually, I am just taking it off your tone. I know what's going on, and I posted this here to complain to the devs or someone associated with the game/company so they can look at some of this stuff and decide if they want to do anything about it. Stop talking down to other people and they won't respond as such. You continue to do so in this post. If you don't like it; don't read it, don't respond to it.

Tone is a tricky thing in text. Without hearing a voice or reading body language cues one has a tendency to project onto text things that aren't necessarily there. I thought you were new and asking questions. I tried to answer them as clearly as I could. As it turns out you know exactly what you're doing and have things completely under control. So I say to you good day, sir. Good luck in your future endeavors. icon_e_smile.gif

The thing that got me was the constant talk of shielding when I was just venting about a large amount of points lost in around 5 or so minutes. It just didn't make sense, I mean of course if I knew it was going to happen, a shield would have been great. I wouldn't have done and any battles and just have left my shield on. My apologies for my part in this, have a good day.

No, just the ones where he was acting like a petulant child.

    ...

Oh, was that all of them? Well, then...

Pot meet kettle. You are one to talk, eh? Whatever, have fun with it.

Then I guess you are just unlucky. But it goes happens at times, especially the last few hours. That is the time when the zombie hordes are out and no amount of 3* in your teams will deter ppl from hitting you.

The horde was especially bad in the Balance of power pvp, bec everyone has a max 1* or 2*. So it's abit of an outlier.pvp.

But anyway chill icon_e_smile.gif everyone is chilled icon_e_smile.gif

Not sure why the OP got so many negs... Must be missing the point here.

I never experienced losing so many points in such a short time though.

I experienced losing 80+ points before (2 fights) and also losing 4 fights. So if he loses 5 fights and loses 40+ per fight, it is possible to lose 200 points within a single game. Nonetheless it's a definite outlier

It also depends on how long it takes you to complete a fight. If your team is slow, or you're lollygagging, or you get up half way through to take care of some "very important business", you're more likely to see all those hits come in at once.

Yup, and if you want to place well in PvP, you have to learn the subtleties of the game. That's just like every game. The best way to do that is to read up rather than complain. The OP will soon discover what Thug was suggesting was the correct course of action. If he wants to ignore that, and concentrate on semantics, he's free to do that too, but you catch more flies with honey.

I don't envy the devs, they're pioneering a new competitive format with AI controlled representation. I really, really enjoy the concept. I wish they'd play around with it a bit. I'd love to see them implement something like: the higher you score in an event, the more your AI's difficulty is improved in that event.

If I play up slowly now and stop right about where I usually place, then try to hit 3-4 matches 15 min from the end time with boosts, I see only a fraction of the hits I was taking before. That's the main lesson I've taken from the forums as a player who can't viably shield (and can not jump out of my alliance of friends simply because I want greener pastures). I've fought every pvp prior to finding the forums tooth and nail, but at a certain point you just aren't going to get any further. If you keep going, you end up taking a big hit as everyone starts finding you at once. Back then, taking 175 pts during a match was not unheard of. In fact, during the pvp right after true healing hit us, I recall playing fervently just to hit 800 for the 50 HP, nevermind also for ranking. My wife and I HAD to leave at 8pm (so 4 hrs left in tourney), and she can't drive my truck. I handed her the phone and let her play it. She won! That was the fight where I took that 175 hit.

I also strongly dislike it. But as was mentioned, there will never be a change in this because shielding makes them money.

Now that I've come to terms with the fact that top 25 is the best I'll be able to do for a while, I try to hover right around 18th. Set up decent matches as best i can for the last 15 min push, and hope it keeps me top 25.
