@LuxAuraeUpdate: I went into PVP battle against Chasm, M'Baku, and 3a5 Namor... All 550. My own 550 HE was leading the charge with plenty of purple from supports...
My turn was skipped due to stun.
AI then made a match and my entire team went down like bowling balls in a mine field.HE did not win.
Feel free to inform me what I need to make HE into the unstoppable force being claimed here.
Or just bring your own Chasm. There's a guy in S2 who runs 450 Chasm/4* Hawkeye/loaner and beats every single thing I leave out, up to and including 3x 672.
That guy is pretty slow, but it does suck eating -70s to a 4*.
When he's boosted it's Hawkeye/4* May, usually. She boosts his match damage up to something crazy. The last time he was boosted I was running some team with over a million in HP and ate like -800 of losses to random Hawkeye teams.
So he's not a one man winfinite beating everything with no support as others have claimed. Thanks.
I don't see how that matters. The guy who beat 3x 672 over and over did it with Chasm and a 4* Hawkeye. If Hawkeye doesn't exist, he can't do that.
Because the claim I was addressing was that HE beats everyone and doesn't need a team with synergy to do so.
That's what I was disputing.
You now add to it that some guy is beating your teams with HE and chasm. That doesn't respond to the claim I was addressing. It moves the goal post to a claim that HE can do things in proper pairings.
It's a different conversion.
I beat 672s without HE. I'm assuming you're referencing his HE being a 4* as the problem and that that player specifically couldn't beat you if he didn't have HE.
I think I've addressed the issues you responded to me with and why they don't matter in regards to the claim I was responding to.

I guess I should read that other guy's argument more closely. How would we even know if a character can solo fights like that? We don't really have 1v3 regularly, and never in PvP. Saying somebody can win everything without any teammates seems unprovable and also pointless -- who even cares?

I feel like this reduces the argument to an implausible level to create a strawman that isn't what is being said at all.
"Nothing wrong with winfinites. But they should be two or three person teams. Synergy. Not a man and his support."
If you want to interpret that as a single character being alone instead of a single character doing all the work regardless of team mates be my guest. I took it (and other things being said) as the being some people who believe HE does everything needed to win against any team on turn zero regardless of his team mates. That was presented as the justification to nerf. And that simply isn't true, which your own comment backed up my position quite well... But instead of acknowledging that you seem to interpret my comments as something completely different. Maybe there are just too many separate conversions being held in this thread and the intended points are getting confused with each other.
I can't tell if you genuinely think your comment represents the argument being made or if you're intentionally changing it to something implausible.
Not accusing, I'm just confused on your interpretation of things being said.
I guess I'll go with something else you said earlier: it doesn't matter.
HE is strong but not nearly as strong as some claim. He'll get nerfed at some point but not because he's OP. It'll be because of his use numbers. And this whole thread will be meaningless.
Anyway, thanks for the Convo. Love you.
I think I'm going to bow out from this discussion and let the rest of you have at it.

Honestly wins based PvP is the worst mistake they ever made. PvP needs to ditch progression completely and go to placement-only (and PvE needs to go to progression only). Is it the worst mistake? They changed it specifically because PvP participation was only a fraction of that of PvE and they wanted more players to play. The number one reason cited for not playing was that players HATED breaking MMR just shy of their goal (whether that was 575 for new players, 900 for the 4 star cover for 4 star players or 1000 or 1200 for veteran rosters) and playing dozens of matches without ever getting to the goal due to being beaten down. As you are well aware of the Forum was full of complaints about that very problem.
I wonder what PvP vs PvE participation looks like now compared to pre-wins based progression. If the number of players increased then from the Devs point of view it was a tremendous success, not a mistake.

It’s because I didn’t say that, but the other guy keeps turning it into that. Do I really need to spell out a team with HE on it? In a game where you can only use teams?

I never said that you said what bucket is saying I said you said. I tried to clarify that to him but I guess you didn't bother to look at that. Maybe you blocked me. Whatever.
I hope you're having a great day and enjoying the game.

I read your later comment now and I think the mistake comes from the "man and his support". That's referring to the winfinite part of the equation. You only need HE to winfinite. All other winfinites are an interaction between two characters. That leaves more open spots on the team for flex.
Have a nice day as well
