I truly dislike the rarity argument that's been going around. There are so many trash Masterpiece cards (my first one was Boil, which does not cast unless Greg has a Blue support on the board). In fact, I would argue the vast majority of them are bad.

The masterpiece cards started out as another means of adding collect ability to the game when the Kaladesh masterpiece series got introduced in paper. Then it became a means of adding some iconic cards that werent necessarily in the set, because the rarity of Masterpiece does not exist in paper but the Devs at the time had committed to continuing to make them. Common-Mythic tend to follow some sort of power scaling, but Masterpieces have always been about their uniqueness rather than their power level.

My friend, I play (nearly) everything, every day. I feel that that had lead to a fine way as a FtP player of 9 years to get a reasonably full collection: as it should be in my opinion. FtP should be the basis to get everything if you dedicate enough time, if you want shortcuts pay irl cash.

I just read your comment. Do you remember after how many years, you could get a reasonably full collection for standard? I am a new player (just 8-9 months or so atm) and basically I'm F2P except for some small purchases I made. I am just wondering after how many years I can start to get most of the collection if I do all the events and do the best that I can in those events. Thanks in advance.
