They threw a giant temper tantrum on Discord when forum member got a free infinity stone of our choice, a stone that most of the people complaining already have and did not need. I can only imagine the epic meltdown if they gave us a 6 star cover

I received one of those participation stones, it was nice.

Me too. I got the reality stone the first time they did it and then the mind stone the second time when they let us pick which one we wanted, and thanks to that I've got every support unlocked now.

The one everybody wanted was the purple one, which supposedly gives you random free power casts every so often, but for me it only ever works when the AI uses it. (This is because it's ideal in situations where one guy tanks the entire board, like the munchkin teams that other players run with Iron May or Namor...my teams always have multiple characters tanking).

The actual best one is the Soul Stone, which is a mega free AP support -- it gives you 5 in your strongest color every time you down an enemy, so it's pretty easy to set up chains of single target high damage powers.

Power Stone can be absolutely brilliant, I've got 2-3 castings out of it in one fight before multiple times. It can also do nothing. Then again the AP ones can be hit and miss too, I really needed Yaro Root to give me start up green the other day and of course it didn't. Oh well, they are still pretty useful.

I've got all of them at rank 5 but the best ones are soul and power stone. Like EB said put the soul stone on your heaviest hitter if they have nuke in their strongest color. When 2a5 ares is boosted equip it to him, team him with iron may and equip her and your third with green ap supports and usually a match will go - fire green, kill enemy, gain green, repeat. This also works great with 1a5 spiderman's red, 2a5 moonstone purple, and 2a5 war machine purple.

The power stone is nice for the extra boost in purple ap gain and chance to fire a free power. I like it on 1a5 widow because it seems like for some reason it really favors firing her blue for free when the fire a free power activates.

The Power Stone limitation that I think you're getting at here is that the free power only fires once per turn. So, if you're running an infinite, it fires once. That's it. You do still get the crit multiplier and extra purple, though.

But it is a nice scarecrow if you have someone with a nuke. That's mainly why I like it. On defense, 1a5 Juggernaut getting a free fire on his red could down a target immediately.

Now that Polaris has been nerfed hard in 4 star land I've been looking at other teams for PvE/PvP.

A couple weeks ago they offered a 4 star ascended Iron May for CP. Mine was only 266 so I jumped on the offer and man, her match/ability damage boost as a 4 is double that as 3. It was an incredibly good investment.

That's let me run L360 Frankie + 275 May with Atlantis/Yaro root. At my MMR I turn 0 most teams and those I don't get killed on turn 1 or at worst turn 2 because Frankies damage is 30K a turn. When there is a villain for PvP I can use Tinker for 80% chance to fire Frankie black on turn 0 giving me more damage thanks to more charged tiles.

I no longer take any hits either as the green support AP is a WAY better scarecrow than the power stone on someone with team damage powers ever was (until I break MMR then I get lots of dual 550 or 672 hits).

It's funny, Polaris took WAY longer to win in PvE/PvP and I took plenty of hits from players along the way. Now that she's nerfed and I no longer use her I'm more OP than I ever was only because of the nerf making me use even more OP teams.

Power creep crept up on the power stones.

If they continue to be rare, hopefully they get looked at for buffs instead of just being trophies liner bagman.
