simple data point, yesterday I could, with many packs, clear SCL9, today I cannot. I wont spend months recovering from devs sadistic attitude.

Was fun while it lasted lasted

Are you saying you actually can't beat the nodes or that it takes too much time?

Unless the node has Dr Strange, I can beat anything on CL10 with just 1 star Hawkeye (240 + R4 Quantum Realm), Shang (350 + R5 Chimichanga) , Iron May (266 + R4 Refreshment Cart). If I don't start with 5 purple I retreat and re-do. Yes, it can take a VERY long time to win against enemies with crazy high health (once they get past 650) but I can win if I want to put in the time to do so (I don't, I just clear a couple times and ignore the challenge node that gets me everything I need progression wise).

And the problem with THAT theory is that they just gave us Infinite Hawkeye, and there are a few other infinite combos as well, so you all can probably just switch to something different and punch up just as far as you used to.

So I think the real answer is that maybe that was their goal, but they don't understand their own game enough to accomplish what they set out to do, or have different people working at cross purposes. There's plenty of evidence of this if you've been around long enough.

For example, if they are indeed hitting Shang-Chi's true heal, why on Earth did they give him that to begin with? Half the nerfs in the game's history have dealt with true healing (who remembers the days of 2* Wolvie/Thor?) -- they know it's likely to cause a problem (for their definition of "problem"). So why are they still making characters that do that?

costs too many hp, failure rate/chance of stopping middle of combo much higher, and sc is not even nerfed yet...
Not saying its not doable, just saying it will take me months to adjust my roster while getting less rewards for about the same effort overnight (dropping to scl8). It just feels like a scam...
all the nerfs they are doing should have happened 2+ years ago. and overall the game is probably in the worst state ever.

Nerfing Polaris was unnecessary. Doing it to Dr Thor is spiteful. Worrying about Shang Chi is beyond ridiculous.

This might be my breaking point. My interest in the game has eroded over the last couple of months, and touching Shang Chi seems like the bridge too far. I realize I’m not a whale, but I have been a major advocate for this game for years.

Please don’t do this, you still have time to correct this error.

Absolutely agree. I chased the chase vaults they gave me. I spent hundreds of thousands of HP in the vaults they gave me. I spent HP to swap covers and they have just bent me over and will do it again with Shang.

This anniversary I spent 200,000+ HP to finish off my 550 Jugg and Kang. I used excess dupe covers to swap to buy Sam. How long before Sam and Kang or even Juggs are on the chopping block from Vaults they gave me to chase.

I've played for over 11 years. I can't tell you the exact amount because my shield supply like much of the game is broken. I don't even use shang much anymore and he's not an issue at all in the game, in fact I think he's one of the best designs this game has had. But a nerf to him will have me calling time on this ride simply because they have flogged his vaults year in year out, Asian new year etc etc. It's quite simply predatory.

I'm surprised you don't have the Refreshment Cart on Hawkeye to keep purple topped off.

Why would anyone bother to invest in or chase any character to help them, when any character who is deemed to be doing "too well" will have those benefits removed?

You shouldn't. This has been the case since Day 1 (well, day 15 or 20 when they nerfed Forest Fire Loki). They've always been this way.

On the point of nerfing the characters like Polaris and Shang Chi that let newer players punch up, I feel a lot of that was offset by buffing 1* Hawkeye to enable his purple infinite. Using him since the buff, I think he's now the best punch up tool, and as a 1*, probably way more readily accessible.

It would be nice to see if they did something similar in this wave of buffs where an ascended 1 or 2* character can step up to be used more often.

I HATE that idea. Why am I chasing 5's and 6's when I'm losing to teams who went all in on some 1* that I've been staring at the entire time I've been playing?

I despise that you can now basically play the entire game at a high level by simply maxing out all the 1*s. And now that they're nerfing fun toys, what reason would I have for chasing the high level stuff?

1* star Hawkeye can allow you to win in turn one, competitively slowly by playing smart and repeatedly using his abilities…the 5s, and a few 4s, allow you to win on turn zero or turn one much faster with less effort. Accessibility to completing games with wins, with a gap that remains in placement (and rewards) because speed matters if you want to place well. And they haven’t even begun touching the “high level” characters.

Edit: this isn’t the end all of the discussion, but it is a reasonable answer to your question.

Your right, I do need to switch who it's on!

I never really paid attention to the fact it would give me +1 purple every time I fired a power. I guess because all the snack tiles end up on purple so I end up with tons of purple snack tiles to match with my Crit placement and with Chimi giving a high chance of +2 purple I never run out of it.

So, let me get this straight. Somewhere, someone in your offices thought that the Unity switch was such a great success that you guys should follow it up with nerfing the hell out of the most played characters?

If anything you guys should do anything in your power to gain back your playerbase after the clusterf××× that was AND IS the Unity switch. Every single new update comes with it's bugs and issues, old issues take months to resolve (if at all). It's been nothing but rough times since Unity. And in the midst of this shitstorm you decide to add onto it by destroying multiple characters, characters that have been around for years I might add, characters that the majority of your playerbase grinded for, or bought with real life money. With no compensation offered.

And your best idea was to kill off more of your player base? Well done. You lot seem either hell-bent on killing of the game or you just have no self-awareness.

If they wanted to kill the game they'd probably just turn it off. There's no need to drive players away first, we'd get locked out when they shut down the servers.

If these changes make enough players quit that they have to close it down, GOOD. That's how businesses should work. Companies that make bad decisions don't stay in business.

Buffs to Nebula - idk. I barely used her enough to know her powerset. Especially after the last rebalance she had.

Buffs to Abomination- green seems reworked. Instead of destroying random tiles, now destroys tiles SURROUNDING other green tiles. ALSO gives return points for every red tiles and A/S/P tile destroyed. I THINK his black power costs less now? I’m really not sure.

Buffs to Sam Wilson - his yellow went from costing 9 to 7. His red went from 14 to 8., while maintaining its damage. That is HUGE for him.

Buffs to hydra stomper - yellow went from 8 to 6. I’m unsure about the rest

Buffs to The Hood - yellow went from 14 to 8 and black went from 10 to 7. Which means we’re gonna get screwed in the nodes with hood and mafia members.

Buffs to Raven - purple went from 9 to 6. Black went from 11 to 8.

Buffs to 2* Captain Marvel - idk. I think the yellow makes more TuPs?

Buffs to Modern Black Widow - the purple cost has been adjusted but not sure by how much. The yellow hits harder.
