Nerfing Grocket after all this time! He is a one trick pony which I suspect will now be a zero trick pony. The horse had already bolted, found a horse companion, had a couple of kids and moved into a retirement stable by now. Grocket doesn't even feature in PvP!

I guess Jane wasn't really a surprise. I really liked her chaos but I guess many didn't and her and Polaris could be nasty.

Shang as everybody has already says is a glass cannon but I guess he could one shot people and that is obviously an issue for Devs.

Please also nerf some of the 1* - mostly looking at 1* Spider-Man, if Shang is a problem with crits then so is Spidey!

Buffs - all probably need although we really don't need another OP 1*. Widow already has her mega stun.

I guess the dev hates fun. Puts more bug into the game, breaks all synergy, adding more time in daily grind by increasing nodes for old players by adding more scl. 10+ years. I guess it’s time to move on to another game.

Hard to stay positive when everything that’s been happening lately feels like an attack on the game and it’s players.

    -Broken updates
-Patches that break more than they fix
    -Basically non-existent anniversary
-A bad Fan Favorites vault basically after the anniversary is over
-Nerfs galore to the aforementioned fan favorites
-Buffs to random characters but no details on the buffs
-Dr. Strange is still being put in vaults, which is insane
-No information on the support rebalances
-“Banned” PvP supports still running wild in Simulator
-Ignoring the loud community feedback and plowing ahead

It seems as though, from the info on this post and without full specifics, MT will still do what she does with less intensity. Which is in line with what happened to Polaris.

SC and Groot aren't surprising to be on the list either.

Polaris, MT, SC, Groot aren't the strongest characters but they do get a lot of use from the masses that don't have the stronger sub turn one characters/supports build ready to go.

I expect those upset about it largely rely on the characters in their rosters, which is what has led to their use based targeting for nerfs.

I do think people need to wait and see how the characters perform before giving up, quitting, or raging over the worst case scenario though.

Edit: adding the additional note that each of the nerfs mentioned above are also additional nerfs to each of the others because they are often used together. It'll be interesting to see what the cumulative effect will be.

I will second this motion... Stay the tiny kitty away from the 1 star characters. They represent accessibility to everyone.

Thor nerf is live so there’s no point anymore in assessing it until you play with her.

Dont worry, it takes forever to get a 1 star character to 5 star so instead they offer them in cash offers all the time. Not a guarantee but they do like money so no incentive to nerf them.

It's been a long time since they've nerfed a character for being too good on offense and still bad on defense, but they have done it before with the OML nerf. He was absolutely no problem for anyone to beat in pvp, but with just a single yellow cover low level players could punch way above their level by hiding behind OML and his endless healing.

He was nerfed because they said something like 70% of all wins included him. I'm assuming the same type of situation is true with Shang and Rocket. They aren't hard to beat, but they're letting players hit much higher than they should be able to at their roster level.

Most posters who don't get the Grocket nerf are long time players who are 5 star players now so of course you don't see Grocket. But in the lower tiers he's everywhere still since he (and Polaris) are the first true difference maker characters that new players (3 star and early 4 star) get access to. Those 2 get favorited and I suspect leveled to 270 long before any other 4s and probably before most 3s get champed. I imagine the change will be fewer initial strikes to reduce the interaction with Polaris and that will be about it.

As for Shang, I suspect the nerf will have to do with his River of Blows passive. Right now he can easily in human hands get to 10 combo points on turn 0 via winfinite moves. All they'd need to do is change the passive to allow just adding 1 combo point per turn (or maybe 2) so that using him for winfinites doesn't let him do 200K damage from his Crit on turn 0. That would leave the kit intact but make him less valuable in winfinite combos.

All that said, I have no idea how any of these nerfs, including Polaris is going to help in any way making the game more popular (recommended to new players), getting players to spend more money or getting lesser characters used more (if that's the goal, then do as I suggested and never buff in PvE/PvP the meta characters).

I remember seeing lots of MThor/Shang and MThor/Polaris and those three together occasionally in sim, sometimes alongside 4RG. Ah, those were the days.

It is discouraging that the only times I see those these days is from old vets that never upgraded to newer characters, and can use older teams to "punch above their weight". Almost as if players are being actively encouraged to not rely on characters more than a year or two old.

I see 3May more than perhaps any other character out there. So I suppose 2-3 years from now....

I know the nerf for Shang has probably been decided upon but I’m gonna say it anyway…..

Please still let me choose where to put the crit on the purple power. I’ll be able to adjust to anything else but that.

Now that that’s out of the way…… let’s check out some of these buffs….. no way! They buffed 3* Raven?! I literally just got her to ascended 5! Let’s gooooo!!!

I don't know what RG is doing in 4* land. Maybe he's a problem there. But that nerf was necessary years ago, never happened, and has become meaningless today. I have no earthly idea why you're spending time on this character.

Shang-Chi is a complete glass cannon. I'm sure he gets a lot of use because he's fun and can punch up, but he's a non-issue when attacking him in PvP.

Thor, as much as she's my favorite character in the game, I'll admit she's everywhere. You already toned her down with the minor Polaris nerf, but she works with a lot of combos. So, whatever.

And then no real info on the buffs.

This feels like worrying about carpet stains while the firemen stomp through your house to put out a fire.
