So here's a question - how was it that Line became the conspiring platform of choice for MPQ? Why Line specifically instead of something else? Our alliance did have a Line thing (might still do) but I haven't been on it for years so no idea if it has changed. We found that our members wanting to find us on Line struggled to do so and searching for me was the only way to find us. It was frankly a pain. No idea what my guys do now if they still hang out there, they could be plotting against me!

The only 2 left on there have both left the alliance so I deleted the app

I've seen players say "Well I run a business and I would never treat any customer poorly, the customer is always right!"

This is true! But customers spend money. If you don't spend money you are not a customer, and most businesses aren't going to let you just hang out for free forever. Buy something or leave.

It’s impossible to know if you’re being ironic, but in F2P games, you actually do need a critical mass of free players so that your paying players have “mobs” to beat down/impress and your game world is thriving. The “cost” of a free player is essentially nothing, and the return on their presence is in fact motivation for your spenders to spend. This is well documented in the freemium economy design community.

That being said, you do need enough of your players to pay to make it worth it of course.

If we’re really doing the comparison of a player to a customer….

I have gone into many stores and bought nothing. Less so now than before as you can shop online cutting down on browsing need in various stores. But I still do it sometimes.

To run a store that lets anyone in, to see if they buy things, requires letting anyone in so they can look around and see if there’s something there they want. Etc.

FTP players may be different but that’s a dev problem because they’re not creating a product that appeals to them.

If you saw, say,a 0.99 bundle once every 2 weeks with a crazy amount of stuff you would probably seriously think about buying it even if you think everything else is overpriced.

I started playing this year, so this is my first anniversary event. I am feeling slightly underwhelmed with the "celebration". How did past anniversaries compare to this one?

technically it hasn't started. It actually begins with the "anniversary season" so probably another event or so and you'll see the anniversary activites

My first Anniversary was the 3rd one, Gwenpool was the release and there was a thing to do with her purple code powers, The big event was Boss Rush where you had to take on an increasingly harder wave of 5* characters and the way it was coded would be all the ap earned passed on to the next boss who instantly killed you unless you had very good roster! There was lots of hate and bad feelings and much slapping of players faces! Good times! My fave Anni is probably 4 where we got Apoc v X:Men. The other big thing used to be HP sales but we have so many offers now I don’t even notice them.

There was one year (2017? 2018?) where they had special Anniversary vaults and tokens rained from the heavens while playing the game. They gave one out a day and then you would earn them through progression in PVP/PVE. It really felt like an Anniversary Party, not like whatever this year is which has to be the all time worst (and most boring).

The first anniversary was great and the second one was good. Every other anniversary has been pretty mediocre. They always hype them up and then they're just sorta fine. Everyone is always super disappointed though, because they buy the hype every year.

This one so far has been particularly underwhelming to me; usually we get double iso rewards that really help you if you’re on a Champing spree. This vault is pretty ok, but it’s so big that I’m not really multi-clearing it like I have done in past years. I’m not mad at it, I’m just not stoked on it really either.

The events are double iso are they not?!?! Well dunno if Galactus was and I haven’t played PvE yet but PvP did?

Yep. This game is a little bit different though, because the things they sell are competitive advantages. They need to sell things that have a noticeable impact on your ability to compete (like 6*, maybe!). If you can win stuff for free, there's no reason to buy anything.

Maybe? I don’t see the Double ISO tag on anything here in SCL10 PVE but I also haven’t really looked too close at the amounts or anything.

The purple ribbon is on every event (except the Boss) since about Oct. 02.

You can accuse and blame the devs for a lot of things, but bad Double-Iso rollout is not one of them. Not this year at least.

Has anyone seen any Doop codes yet?

Unless that new tower mode is a really great addition, this will go down as a pretty terrible anniversary event. That should have been rolled out at the start (let's be honest, this already feels like the anniversary is half over).

The Buffs should have been announced at the start, especially the ones that are just number bumps. SCL10 would have been a welcome change, but the CN crashing is wet fart.

Truthfully, if I was a new player and this was my first anniversary, I'd uninstall the game.

    Happy anniversary!
We are going to nerf all those characters you spent years trying to acquire!
    Thanks for playing you fools!

Lines big in Korea/Japan, and easy to set up rooms for alliance or PVP break check rooms. Just invite the players in and it's old big chat room. Then you can coordinate PVP fights, hit each other's easy teams (grills they are called) and get T1-T10 very easily in PVP for those devoted to play.

Where is tower mode? Supposed to start today
