Update on Baron Zemo’s Quests

I would like to remind people:
Quests worked fine before Unity. We got new 5* quests and no one could do them repeatedly and everyone thought it was awesome and fun to earn some shards for a new 5. And it WORKED.
It. Worked. Just. Fine. For. Many. Months.
Unity continues to make things worse.
There has been no benefit for players.
At best we are happy when broken things work right again.
What an utter and complete disaster.

Proper compensation would be to calculate which player exploited these quests for the most extra shards and then give the entire player base that many shards so everyone has this character at the same place. That punishes the worst exploiter (and all the near exploiters) by making all that extra time spent worthless.KGB

I'm willing to give them until year end for new content. I bought a new device mostly just for MPQ so I am financially invested. Obviously I get the benefits of that device no matter what but I based the specs on being able to play the game, which it can although not without some creeping lag I have noticed but I did so based upon a promise from the Devs. We have had what, 3 or 4 updates now? The Devs need to fix what they can, be honest about devices which can't be used anymore in a comprehensive post and announce a roadmap for expected incoming new events etc and alterations to existing stale content. We have time but clock is ticking.

You had to read between the lines a little bit with what they were saying, but Unity was never really going to give us any benefits. All the stuff they promised was very vague, like "maybe we can do new events someday!" or "sure, we can talk about giving you that niche feature request after we go to Unity!"
I still contend that Unity was done because the old engine required a bunch of manual work, like creating events by hand, and because the new dev team had trouble reading and understanding the old team's (presumably gross) code. Neither of those are good reasons to do a ground-up rebuild.
It was always going to be a small miracle if any of this worked at all. But now they're committed -- they've spent a ton of time and money on redoing all this stuff and made big promises to upper management about cost savings etc so they can't go back.
At this point the best we can expect is to get roughly back to where we were, but honestly that's sort of always the best you can expect with a project of this nature (don't do ground-up rebuilds guys, it's never worth it!).

I don't know about no benefit. The pvp MMR has been a great benefit. Being able to farm endless 1 star and 2 star covers with trivial teams. I've been able to get a bunch of 1a5 dupes to 550 and most of my 2a5 are nearing 550. The giant influx of 5 star rewards has been great. In just the past month or so my HP hoard has grown from about 30k to over 150k

What do you consider trivial teams? Once I pass a certain number of wins (around 33 or so) I stop getting seed teams. At that point I'm just as likely to get a pair of 550s as I am a quasi seal team (ie one with enemies lower than say L300). I guess if you are a 550 player everyone under 550 looks like seals but for most players it's not endless farming of covers but rather 30 or so guaranteed and then more only if you are willing to skip a ton etc.
Also lag on my device means playing even seed teams takes forever. I'd guess doing 25 wins vs seed teams takes 30-40 minutes by the time I click through menus and wait for the sluggish game. That's before factoring in more time to apply those 25 covers.
Don't get me wrong, I too LOVE getting 25 guaranteed covers per event plus some more if I am willing to spend a bunch of time skipping but the time invested due to sluggishness is WAY more than I did on the old Engine when I faced actual teams in my MMR.

A team i can beat in 1 or 2 turns. Even after the seeds, the game will still show me all sorts of 1, 2, 3, and 4 star teams, all of which i can crush quickly and easily with ap boost supports and 672 boosted characters. The bulk of the rewards though have been lightning rounds. I can hit nothing but seed teams like 30 times in a row and then just skip until I find seals to club.

With your MMR you might be considered one of these water based snacks? I know I have been given some 370ish teams which I could batter to death, dunno what they are called? Seems to be after at least 25 wins.

Yeah, so what we see is you.
Normally these sorts of teams are hidden from us, until we get to such high point values that the game can't give us peers anymore. At that point matchmaking goes "eh whatever" and starts showing us literally anybody, for like 5 points.

These are the types of teams I'm talking about. I can still find plenty of them after going thorough all the seeds.

I'm in the kiddie pool of the 550 club, less than twenty 550 characters. We see teams like yours that capped themselves in 4 star land at the higher end and teams as low as 3* MMR on the low end. It removed any invisibility that soft capping provided so now when the team's with maxed 4s get high enough they become tasty snacks. It gives mature rosters (75+ 550 characters) a bit of invisibility from rosters like mine until I get to about 1300 points. Then everything kind of normalizes.
It's changed the way I play PvP. Instead of shield hopping I'm just farming now. So my HP income has gotten a nice boost since I'm not spending. But it is definitely less fun than it used to be. Things were already moving in that direction with folks leaving but Unity is thinning the herd much, much faster. The lag is definitely the limiter in terms of how many matches can be done but the lower amount of attention that needs to be paid makes it a perfect game to leave open and just do a match every few minutes since most matches are ending in less than 3 moves.

Most of what I'm shown are teams worth 30+ points which are all 450+ and usually 550+ teams (pre-boost, so often I'm shown 672s).

Makes sense since I am also being shown you (dual 550s that are boosted to 672). As I mentioned above, I usually get 5-10 legit teams of 30+ points that I have to skip before I get another weak team like BriMan2222 showed.
