…and there’s no need to announce our departures, but man, oh, man am I tempted to just say “the heck with this” and bail out after 4189 (non-consecutive) days of play.

Ok this would be a good way to announce leaving …. a joke.

Just do it though! If you’re not enjoying it, I mean.

Who knows how long we’ll be sitting at the gate waiting for them to figure out how to put the plane together?

They have been slowly pounding this game into something that is not fun for quite a while. This Unity engine move is probably the final nail in the coffin. I love MPQ and have been playing 10+ years. But it is a shell of what it was with all of the glitches and issues recently.

The games done. They don't recover from this. We had to merge alliances again to sum up enough people and already we are haemorrhaging long time players.

You cannot bring in new players to a game that crashes and causes their device to run as hot as the sun. I no longer play this game on my phone because heat kills batteries and my iphone 16 pro is hotter than when I use my sun in direct heat in the Caribbean.

After 5 minutes playing my Ipad pro is a hand warmer. Initial unity release was fine for crashes but I now cannot leave any significant apps running in the background as it hogs so much it shuts down. A freaking ipad pro struggles with this game.

Like our batteries this game is cooked. I mean anytime I've found a new game I've not tolerated bugs and glitches for long before I've found another game. They could offer me 2* ascended to 5* for $9.99 and I wouldn't put money into this game now.

They will lumber on patching holes for a little while and either have to return to the old engine or shut down. Sadly I've enjoyed the game so much I'm going to require that push.

well Im back been playing since 2013, and I did not play for 3 months since the game failed on my phone. Now Im back with steam, I think yes we have a very rough start for the unity engine but the game has not failed and the unity engine will be massive in the future, giving the game development flexibility in the future we need this for the future of the game. Temporary pain for future gain.

I stopped playing because it was too laggy on my tablet. Logged back in on my phone to cash in on the compensation rewards and figured I'd try out the 'new' mmr in pvp.

It was fun grinding for the first few events because I was finally able to get enough covers to ascend all my 1-stars to five. That's about my only motivation for playing right now. I'm hoarding a lot of hp and cp from covers but I'm sure the novelty will wear thin very soon.

I have not played a single PVE event outside of boss. It's not that I don't have the time, but when i get to the part where I have to choose a time slice I just nope out coz I just don't want to commit my schedule around a specific play time anymore. Plus I don't want to navigate those tiny nodes on my phone.

I use to play for placement in PVE and 550 every Latest release but that doesn't excite me anymore. The game was already stale before the new engine dropped. Sadly I don't think they will be able to fix everything and start delivering new content in time. It will be a miracle if they can convince their investors to keep the game going for another year.

The one good thing to come from this is the broken PvP MMR and they're apparently close to patching that.

I hope they do patch it soon, because I struggle to find enjoyment in beating such absurdly easy teams. What makes it even worse is that it's happened at a time when the 'class of...' PvPs are running, which I usually enjoy a lot due to character restrictions resulting in a break from the usual meta.

Totally disagree. PvP has been fun for me in the first time for a long time. I never get to 50 wins otherwise as it is such a slog.

Totally disagree! I always get to 50 wins, but I had trouble finding the motivation to do it against weaker teams and seeds. I play PvP to hurt other strong players, not noobs or fake teams.

Luckily if you skip A LOT, you can still find strong teams to fight, but we shouldn't have to do all that just to play the game!

My play style is not to hurt other teams. Is that you cup of tea? Honestly makes no sense to play PVP just to hurt other teams.

Yes, I enjoy taking points away from other players, dumping points to starve the slice, messing with people's hops, and taking placement over them. They get so mad (well, the s2 regulars are pretty used to it by now -- I think that's why they stay)! It's hilarious.

I especially enjoy retal wars! If we're going back and forth and I can get 2 or 3 wins for every win you get, that means I'm the better player. I like testing myself. I often try to bait people into wars by hitting them over and over from way above.

Winning every fight is boring. Never losing on defense is boring. MPQ is exciting when there's danger. That's why shield hopping is fun -- can you do your fights fast enough, before the zombies catch you? How many can you sneak in? If you never get attacked there's no point in rushing.

How do you play PvP (normally, not the way it is now) without hurting other players? You can't possibly shield check every single fight!

I've been on both sides of the argument regarding pvp. My conclusion is I'm too drunk on covers to care right now.

Are characters boosted to level 799 normal in Lightning Rounds? I could swear this is my first time seeing one.

Been around a little while. I've attacked more than one team thinking it was an easy win until I saw the 1200k health bar for that middle character.

The featured 3* chars are buffed +50% levels. Always have been (so a 166 boosted to a 249, and 266 boosted to 399, etc). What's new is ascension, and people finally getting some of those 3s over level 500. A 500 boosts to 750, a 550 boosts to 825.

You play PVP way differently than I do. If you get enjoyment out of making other people's PVP miserable, good for you. I don't.

I don't, either. At best, you've mildly annoyed a complete stranger with an amount of effort that is never worth the reward.

That makes sense. I spent most of my time on MPQ not playing with Lightning Rounds very much.

Well, the other way to play (rather, the ONLY other way that's actually fun and interesting) is to try to maximize points through climbing then fast, coordinated hopping.

And guess what? That playstyle requires players like me! If we didn't exist, all those shield hoppers wouldn't have to hop at all -- they could just climb forever and float at a billion points with no risk of losing any points ever.

If you're not doing what I do OR what they do, what's the point? I've done both over the years, and so have most vets, but doing neither seems horrifically boring. Is that why everybody hates PvP? What do you even do?

The reward IS annoying a stranger (and judging by the number of death threats over the years, it's often not mild!).
