Originally because it was puzzle quest, having played the Nintendo DS games, but have since been sucked into the Marvel Universe and doubt I would have lasted this long with generic characters.

I know less than half of them for sure, but having XMen and stuff helped keep it relatable, I suppose. It makes me happy to see so many people here because of PQ though, even if only at the start.

I can't believe so many people may have played more than an hour of the space one! I remember being quite excited when it came out... one of my biggest gaming letdowns.

I tried the RPG one (3?) that came out during MPQ, but didn't get more than a couple hours in to that one either, does it get better?

Well, I got introduced to the game through work and in having to learn how to navigate the game. I've always been a fan of comics, and Marvel in particular, so when I started playing it hooked me. I like the simplicity at the base level, and then the added depth with all the powers and team components.

Welcome and congratulations on post #1!

I played through the Space one a few times. Then again I was a beta tester for the game so I had to :) It was actually tougher and less fun in the earlier versions. The final one still was fairly boring because the RPG elements were weak (no character building it was simply ships). But I did find the hex map to be a nice diversion from the regular 8x8 board virtually everything else uses. Steve Fawkner, the designer told me that the game was a rush job based on the success of the original PQ. Apparently the Australian government gave him a boatload of money and said we need a space version of this game yesterday in order to capitalize on the success of match 3 / RPG genre that PQ invented.

Not sure what you mean by the RPG one. Can you remember any more of the details because as a beta tester I ended up playing all of them (multiple times).

Looked it up, it was just Called "Puzzle Quest 3: RPG Adventure". It didn't pull me in, but I was also playing MPQ, which takes up a lot of phone time.

I loved the original puzzle quest game and I’ve always loved the marvel characters since reading the comics as a kid (many thanks to Daz for buying them and letting me read them 🙂)

Also liked the movies so this game is perfect for me

Ah yes. I played through the campaign which is the equivalent of playing the prequel in MPQ. Mostly because it took place in the original PQ 'world' and I wanted to see how it ended. I actually liked a lot of the game play on the board itself as it offered some new things MPQ didn't. But the rest of the game didn't draw me in just as it didn't draw you either.

When my best friend, who introduced me to comics in the early 80s (mainly Marvel, never really got into DC), started playing this game in 2015, I followed quickly. Never played a PQ or Marvel game before.

The odds of you being born are 400 trillion to one, that's why you are here.
Now I am wasting too much of my life on silly childish remarks to people I've never met?
    No I don't think so
