I really can’t enjoy PVP anymore.

The problem with sim is (and will continue to be) lack of boosted characters. Supports will make more teams viable, but also probably create a bunch of stuff that can the AI can oneshot you with on defense. I think it's a lateral move.

I’m just glad they added the Wins option next to Scores. Back before they added that it always felt like a huge waste of time since I couldn’t place and couldn’t get progression.

Certainly it can feel overwhelming when everyone else has Meta or Boosted teams and you’re sitting there unable to even pull out a win.

Strategically use your 4 free skips to avoid any teams you know you can’t handle (or just don’t want to deal with). If after the 4 free skips you don’t have an option that you know you can beat, take the rental required and two characters you don’t use (ideally your 1’s or 2’s since they heal fast, but you know your roster best), enter whichever fight is worth the most points and just take the loss.

It’ll help push down your MMR and give you another 4 skips to find a fight you can win. Only play for those progression rewards you want. The 12 for small CP, 16 for HP, or the 25 for the 4* covers. The 50 wins for the big CP reward is more effort than I put in unless I’m having fun with a particular Boosted character.

Most importantly enter at the start and hit those seed teams. If you can get all the Seed Teams, all of those progression rewards are significantly easier to manage.

Your win/loss record no longer affects matchmaking (since like 2014!). If you see easier fights after a loss, it's explainable by some other factor.

Losing points is the factor. The people that just hit like 500 to 800 points and then float are usually easier teams, but won't be visible if you climb to over 1000 points. If you lose points you can start to see those teams again.

This person said to purposely lose the highest value fight you can find though, which would minimize point loss.

Losing points does change what you see in matchmaking, but you usually need to lose a decent chunk of points to make that happen.

Also, just to make sure everyone is aware: logging out and back into the game gives you another 4 free skips. You don’t need to purposefully lose a fight to achieve that particular goal.

It's supposed to work as you say. But in my experience either I always seem to retreat right at an inflection point OR there is something going on when you retreat. By that I mean that whenever I retreat from a battle (which I do rather than eat a nuke that would cost a health pack since I play for wins) and I start searching for opponents I suddenly see opponents I was not seeing prior to my retreat. I find that highly suspicious as to why I wasn't seeing them before. Once I queue up 3 of these newly revealed opponents and beat then I am back to seeing the same teams I was before unless I retreat again.

I always thought PvP was the worse of the two main play options. Adding supports into PvP simply reinforced this idea for me. The only portion of the game I like less is the Puzzle Matches that are run during team events. I originally liked them, but they got so repetitive and annoying I just no longer even bother playing them.

I totally agree with I think everything said here. PVP is a choir and everyone has they own expierence.

So... I set myself some rules to make it kinda like my Wasp challenge. I just yesterday have managed to max+max ascend X-23 and she became staple in my teams once again. working on Coleen Wing now. So I figured it would be nice starting point to maybe try to enjoy PVP once more.

Here are the rules, for pick-2 PVPs:

    1. I can use only those characters who aren't "current PVP meta".
    2. "Current PVP meta" means: any champion who I saw 3 or more times this PVP outside of essential character, loaners and seed teams. This means that I can not just cheese with boosted 5* cause those quickly will see them at least 3 times.
    3. The permanent ban list consists of: mThor, Shang Chi, Chasm, Kang, Darkveil, P5Colossus, 3*Aunt May, Sidewinder, Omega Red, BRB and Polaris.
    4. One of banned characters can be used on particular PVP but ONLY IF ANOTHER banned character is boosted and they are their direct counter, This is to ensure that i will not self lock myself from getting wins due to, for example, not being able to use Chasm to counter overflowing of boosted Polaris/BRB and waste time for LITERALLY hundreds of skips.
    5. Trying to get "fire x power" missions for new characters does not change any other rules: I still have to do them with rules 1-4 present.
    6. The challenge is deemed "done" if I manage to get 16+ wins every PVP without breaking rules 1-4.
    7. I will try to beat the challenge without using the rule 4. If so happens, then I call "more than done".
    8. The challenge is deemed "doable" if I manage to get 16 or less wins or forgot any PVP event.
    9. The challenge ends when I break any rules or when PVP season ends.

So let's see how far I will go and what will, if any, defeats me,

    Daredevil PVP:
I have already done it. 16 wins so far. Teams used have consisted 4a5Wasp and 4a5X-23 with a mixture of 5Electro and two 5Hit-Monkey fights, If I want more wins (cause Ant-Man is a reward), then all of native 5* plus 5* Emma are already banned for me. And I amalready high enough to not see not boosted 5*.

Shield Simulator or should I call it Shield Sidewindermulator. Nothing more fun than being one shot KO;Ed by the fantasticar support. Also everyone is using Sidewinder in Shield now. That away ability of his is annoying

Not much better in pick 2. Either boosted 5*, Brolaris, mThor/SC or Sidewinder. Lot's of skips, even if I did not do the challenge.

Kinda funny to see that they had to add Sidewinder to see how OP can be anybody who can causally/ramdomly do 100k-200k damage (like SC does).

P.S. Funny, but best nerf for Polaris is adding passive to one of her abilities: animation's can not bu turned off/are always on. I was thinking about similar for others like for mThor: disable all supports.

Who enjoys pvp after the support update? just doing it for cp lol

The problem does not lies in supports in PVP. The problem lies in fact that NOTHING is done because of that. Never we saw any support being adjusted, banned or whatever. I do not see Omnipotence City, Leapfrog or Fantasticar being taken care of and making already strong characters even stronger/more annoying. I would love to see character with passive ability "stun enemy as long as their invisibility tile is on board". Or such. Love to see anti cascade kit. Etc.

I wonder why they have never instigated the limit on AI turn cascades they did for PvE? Maybe with the new engine?

The last event I saw loads of Sidewinder but very few so far in the Daredevil event. Maybe just lucky, or Kang being boosted is doing something?

@Scofie I see alot of Kang/Darkveil or mThor, May/Emma or whatever. And quite a lot of Chasm/Sidewinder.not as much as with previous but still enough to catch the impact.

I just fought my first Chasm/Sidewinder in the Daredevil PvP. Took Kang and Moon Knight. They're not great on defence.

Maybe. But even so, the problem is same as with mThor/SC: easy and fast punching whay above the league.

Anyway. I enjoy my ascended Laura. Have to be carefull with enemy supports but so far so good.

yes if any support needs to be nerfed its fantasticar. no support should be able to one shot KO anyone.
