What's New MPQ - February 2025 (Updated 01/31/25)

I'll update the calendar image the next time I make an update to this post so in the meantime, here's our upcoming February Events calendar!

One thing that you'll notice is that this month's boss event will also run as a Regular Boss Event with no Heroic version like in January. We hope to bring those back soon, but until then, please enjoy a little break from having to manage both events with a revised reward structure that has a few Support specific items.

    I really appreciate this being up before Feb starts. I would point out that the buff list for 2/6-2/12 is the one that is current for this week right now.

    I assume it will change next week. If you can update when you have that information, that would be helpful.

    @GrimSkald It'll be a 5 only. I copied from last months.

    Can you give some insight on why the heroic boss stuff has been removed for 2 months? I know the rewards have been finagled but I doubt we're getting the same amount as if both were up.

    Were too many people complaining about keeping up with flips? Because that's kind of how mpq works lol. Pve/pvp are on timers and people already put a lot (way more than me) of effort into making top rank.

    My alliance kind of blows and we only made top 500 maybe 1/4 of the time, if that. But the choose 1 of 3 supports was a nice bonus/incentive for OTHER people. Especially with shards being unable to unlock a support you don't have.

    Weak sauce. The non-Heroic version of boss events are 0 engagement events. The Heroics at least drive some engagement. Not to mention the very large gap in rewards for the folks who do try hard in these. Very disappointing.

    I had thought that might be the case, but I wanted to be sure -- I "mini hoard" for the 3★ release to get them finished for their featured PVP and I'd be scrambling to do so at this point. Not that it makes a huge difference, but still. Thanks for the confirmation!

    Even if it returns at this point, whether they change how to score or the rewards, seems like the death of heroic as we know it.

    Would also love to know the "why" Heroics are missing for last month and this coming month. Would love some insight into why this decision was made.

    For those of us not in T25 alliances these single boss events are god sends. 550 shards of a favorite support token, master and advanced support tokens are manna from MPQ heaven.

    I feel like it's...ironic, or something, that the upcoming boss was the first Heroic boss run, apparently, since they felt they needed to fully explain how it would work. I wasn't playing then. But that this one is the second one they are running since Sept 2023 without a Heroic boss.

    I am of mixed opinion on this, as the main thing I want for support rewards is progress on the one I am working on and the boss rewards of pick-3 are nice but for most of the time, as a T250 alliance, it's just coming down to some shards on the one I pick and/or some for my fave, and far less for my fave than the 550 I just got from the Thanos one. Even with the support tokens.

    If you're a long-term player odds are you already have all the supports and probably most (or all) at R3 or above.

    Also Heroics giving you lots of things like boosts and kinda meh stuff on the way to the good stuff (placement rewards) kinda makes it less appealing to grind it as you play.

    I'm of mixed feelings as well. I think I only had to bow out of the previous Heroics 3 times... they take a lot of time and commitment to be a solid t10 member for (t25 not so much, as long as your alliance plays the first day correctly).

    What I missed was working closely with my alliance; this game is largely solo in my day to day (I don't play in score collusion pvp slices, nothing against those that do, I just don't agree with it) so it was cool to have to gather at specific times and do our parts together. The rewards felt in line with the effort required, 5* supports are worth more than anything they put in the offer stores, but at the same time most of us willing to go that far in the game are already well off as far as supports go.

    Having to do The Hunt twice in February sucks 2 times of Florida aka the worst MPQ level in the game blech

    I'm going to guess that's a mistake as Sam Wilson (Captain America) is the name of the 4*.

    Those support shards are like mana from Heaven. As someone who is not in a T25 alliance this was a huge and generous gift.

    I'm happy for all the folks whose alliances don't try hard and are getting some extra out of these but bummed for those of us who do try hard. It's a pretty big falloff from the rewards we usually get by coordinating our hits. Not to mention the boredom factor with an event that requires 0 pay attention which has trickled down to PvP too, almost no activity this weekend. First world problems to be sure.

    I’m going with the new 5-Star is Captain America (Sam Wilson) in the same way they labeled the 5-Star Daken: Wolverine ( Samurai Daken).

    He’ll probably have a Shield ability, a Red Wing drone ability & a wing/Vibranium suit ability.
