So I am in that 3 star transitional phase ( max patch, 105 BP, 100 CMag 7 other 3 stars between 7 and 9 covers) and the question is... Do i bother getting Mags over 100 with the incoming changes? I am iso starved in a big way after maxing Patch.

Absolutely...those 3 make a decent team together. Just hit up the LRs to build up your ISO bank. Mag's nerf date is still "in the future" so you'll probably get a lot of use out of him in the meantime.

And there's always the possibility that he'll still be viable after the nerf...

I'd say go for it, I was unsure of leveling Mags for quite a while, but dang it will you get the best for your buck. He's extremely versatile, can dispatch any PvE or PvP team for you.

You might want to leave him at level 130 or so for cases when oBW is buffed in PvE which she often is, she will steal blue for Mags on her matches. Or not - personally I don't care for that, as Magneto can get you all the AP you could ever need on his own. He doesn't need to be maxed, but additional health and purple damage help a lot.

definitely do it, the nerf isn't for a while....cause we know how long they took to nerf spidey.

Depends on what your options are. I still have room in my Patch and LT, so that's where my ISO is going. But, if the choice was between CMag and a lower tier ***, I'd definitely be pumping him, nerf or not.
  • I asked myself this question like 3 months ago and never looked back. Haven't they been talking about "funbalancing" C. Mags most of the year? OK, it COULD happen next week, but it's just as likely to not happen until September or something. And who knows, maybe he'll still be good after funbalancing, like Thor (and unlike every other nerfed character).

He's fantastically strong AND using him is a completely different game in some ways, sort of like all-goon battles are a bit of a different game. Still a puzzle game, but a different sort of game where you're looking for crits you can create and cascades you can cause with the use of Magnetic Shield rather than sliding tiles. It's a fun change, and unlike endless use of Thorverine and then the MN Mags/C.Storm combo and then Punisher/OBQ I have no yet got bored of using C.Mags teams.
