Which characters win more often on defense? (3*s and oBW)

It's been Hulk more than anyone lately. I try to kill him off in one turn and if I misjudge my damage capability, I am left with 6-8 anger tiles popping off. Even if you survive those, you are going to get hit by a Thunderclap for the next 1 or 2 turns.0

Bonfire, I voted for oBW and I have 8 freaking 141s. :S I face oBW often enough and while her threat greatly diminished for my fat 3* characters, she is still a viable threat. If she had GSBW/HT or even Mororo/Hood's health I think she could be a straight-up 3*.0

While she's pretty easy to kill, I'd say that she's the 2nd most common cause of wipes for me, even with my usable, if not maxed 3* roster, after scaled up juggs and ares in PvE. I dunno if I'm just matching wrong or just not keeping very good track of how often is actually comes up, but I'd say I get an uncooperative board a good 25% of games or so. And if you try to deny her purple by matching it first, that makes it so she only needs to get 2 matches off for an AR, which is quite easy to just not be able to deny0 -
I have never lost to Hulk due to Anger. Maybe if I'm extremely tired and I was running Daken and Sentry against Hulk I can see that happening, but that's just a pure user error like the time I ran Punisher + Daken against Loki with black AP feed and got totally spanked. Every once in a long time I forget about an Anger triggered by a match 4, but that's not going to end the game either unless they have another green user and it happened on a board already loaded with green, and doubling up on green users weakens the versatility of a team so either way it's not that bad.0

I think Anger losses are mainly the domain of Patch users who use Beserk rage and make a mistake with their maths (and/or get unlucky with blues dropping on for C.Mags). Anger fires off with all those strike tiles giving it pretty massive AoE damage then the green matches get strike tile boosted and finally a thunderous clap +/- cascade.0

Now that you mention it, I do recall using Berserker Rage on a team with Classic Storm and getting totally spanked a very long time ago. But I'd still say that's very significant user error and probably only happens when people are totally zombified from extended playing. I recently lost a game in a very long time in PvP in Lords of Thunder where I was purposely handing the AI green match 4s, and I'm not even sure what I was thinking on the time other than that it ended very badly.0 -
Obw is kinda scary, but its hard to skip her when you can kill her in half the time it takes to kill a standard defensive 3* like lazythor, sentry, daken, etc. as long as you have a fast, offensive 3* like daken or cmags, matches against obw teams as basically 3 v 2.5, which is a pretty good place to be.0

I'm surprised people are complaining about OBW so much. In the last 100 matches, I think she may have gotten Agressive Recon off *once*. Maybe it's just because I use Daken, but I can't remember losing to her in months. She's an easy hit when I'm looking for opponents in PvP.0

I lost a couple of matches to Hood-OBW-LazyThor during the Hood event that just completed, generally on purple-heavy boards which led to lots of Aggressive Recons preventing me from ever building enough AP to do anything before LT destroyed me. Outside of that event I'd still say OBW-LazyThor in matches where they get lucky where a row or column of purples or yellows just drops into their laps after a match are the most common cause of defensive wins against me. Maybe a couple of times a month something goes badly wrong against The Hulk (probably involving me trying to get away with one last match at low health before using health packs and trying to "go off" a bit too early with C.Mags and ending up with lots of Anger procs and no dead Hulk). Don't really ever lose to anyone else.
Despite this, I tend to go for OBW teams when I can as while they can lucksack the occasional defensive win they are quicker to kill and do less damage on average. I won't to lose to a team like Patch, C.Mags and boosted Mo.Storm but it's much more likely to do damage than a team like OBW and Lazy Thor with boosted Mo.Storm.0
