Idea: Make a public leader board with MMR ranking

That way, those of us that refuse to tank could at least get a little pat on the back for it, even if we get far fewer rewards this way. Then again, how about giving rewards for keeping a good MMR ranking over an entire season instead of punishing people for being good at the game?

I don't care if IceIX thinks "Tanking is a necessary evil", I'm just not going to do it. Sitting around intentionally losing matches for 30 minutes straight is not my idea of fun. I guess the idea of hiding the MMR is to keep people from abusing the system, but it doesn't seem to be working.

  • Allowing people to see firm proof of their MMR and the way their actions affect it will just make it easier for people to manipulate the system.

With them essentially acknowledging tanking as part of the game aren't they saying manipulating the system is part of the game.

It will probably get there in a few months as they realize some degree of transparency in the mechanics become necessary to keep their audience growing. Some of us would rather stare into the eyes of the firing squad given a choice.
  • How about determining the MMR on people's average final placement in events, rather than counting meaningless losses?
