Alliance members jumping ship without warning

I presume it's a common issue, but I feel like there should be a penalty for people jumping ships so close to a major event's end. There's under a day left until the end of Season 2, and it's quite hard to find a good player so quickly.
The only thing we can do would be a "wall of shame" - posting their names here so that other alliances would know they're unreliable.
The only thing D3P could do would be to disable the "leave" option for, say, 48 h before massive events end.
What do you think? Are there better solutions? Thanks!

  • Sad thing to hear but u can't put all responsibility on the player who jumped ship.
Why he has to stay when ur alliance is under performing, I very seen people have multi. Maxed cover have a season score of 3k Ish so this person fought well the whole season, suppose to stay in the alliance and watching his month of effort sink with it.???

If there is a deadline to jump ship it won really help since people will just jump earlier and other players will not be able to join after the dead line.

If you really want to point finger, I think it's the commander s fault. First he has to set goal for the season, swap out the burnout and have whole alliance work on the goal.

I am pretty sure if u do ur job as a commender, I am pretty sure if he knows what the alliance is about, he will decide to stay or swap earlier instead of making a mess
  • If being 96th before the start of the Thor event and top 50 in the Patch event means "underperforming" then so be it. And my key gripe here is the "without warning" part. I find it insulting when someone just moves up without a care in the world for the mess he/she leaves behind.

if they really wanna punish them they'd make it so if you leave a alliance 12 hours before the end of an event, you wouldn't be able to join any alliance till event end, plus your score would count towards your old alliances score but you would not get any of the rewards. maybe a tad extreme but it's happened to my alliance and it's....annoying to say the least.
  • I've hopped all over the place right at the end...well, my alliance that is. Finally got a good group together but a whole lot of ppl left whenever we weren't a "guarantee". Right now, worst part, is my alliance has 2 commanders but one doesn't do commander stuff really...and my phone battery just fizzed out on me...so now @19/20, but easily a top 100 team with a 20 th player...if the other commander doesn't "get the memo" we might be sol.

While hi understand the frustration entirely, I don't think there is a good answer....because if the person leaves, then you both are sol with no chance to get bettter via recruiting quickly or something. They should do SOMETHING though, and while a cutoff point doesn't fix the problem, it certainly mitigates it. Even if its only a few hrs before the end.

Of course, then you get the prob of ppl who r pushing hard sometimes getting royally screwed by thier alliance. So it goes both ways. I still don't like covers being rewards for alliance PvP...but beyond removing them or changing it drastically...this will always happen when players don't feel real attachment to an alliance and are instead just thier for the reward....which is what most are in one for of course.
