Good luck with the little ones!

Good luck, Riggy. You have been a great mod (haven't seen you much in-game but it hardly matters). All the best to your family!

  • Well, given that Ice hasn't been here since Monday, my name is still green, which kind of surprised me. Guess I'll go nuke a few spammers since apparently Nonce isn't awake yet.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We already have a daughter who will turn 2 in August. She is about to be de-throned big time. She is the first and only granddaughter on my wife's side of the family so she's used to being spoiled. That should be interesting.

And I will try to remember to post pics, assuming I'm even remotely coherent at any point next week.

So it's 200% buff to the family. icon_e_smile.gif Good stuff, keep'em coming. They say at some point it gets easier as as you can put the bigger ones to herd the little ones. Others say small child, small trouble, big child big trouble. Can kinda confirm the latter, the first is more like wishful thinking in this century.

OTOH if you say goodbye to night sleeps anyway you could play those 2.5h refreshes too. icon_rolleyes.gif
  • Didnt have this game at the time but when my son was born, I would stay up at night with him until 1am during the week (had to get up at 7 for work) and then 3am at the weekend. This gave the wife time to get half a night's uninterrupted sleep and then she woke up with him after that so kinda win win on both sides as you still miss out on sleep but in a coordinated manner that would have allowed me plenty of time too grind while staying up with him. This may not work with twins but from what I hear they both tend to be asleep/awake at the same time.
P.S. consider yourself lucky!! I wanted twins as it means getting all the negative sides of babies out of the way at the same time rather than waiting until one stops being so demanding and then have another re-starting the cycle.
Best of luck, hope they are both healthy and bring you plenty of happiness!!
  • Congratulations Riggy, and best wishes for you and your family at this very exciting time!

I work with young children, aged 0-5, and it never ceases to amaze me how fast each child grows in every way. My personal favourite age to work with is toddlers, they're just so dynamic and curious, so eager to make sense of the world around them, and determined to find their own way through it. Your daughter is in for some big changes but I'm sure she'll adapt and thrive with time.. Right on time to put her increasing language and reasoning skills to good use! icon_razz.gif

Thanks for all your work keeping things orderly around here. And thank you for writing such a lovely "I'm quitting" thread, this is probably the most uplifting one I've come across on this or any other gaming forum. It's always good to have some perspective. Little ones to take care of is more important than any game!

You may as well buy Frozen now. You're going to be watching it every winter until your great-grandchildren put you in a nursing home.

Best of luck with the twins.

    Quoted for truth.

Congratulations with the forth coming arrivals. I dont have twins but I do have 3 young children so I know how much joy/heartache, fun/frustration they can give you. Afetr a while you will adjust to your new time limitations. I just went down to 4 hours sleep per night so I had extra time to have some me and wife time.

Have fun and enjoy the little terrors.
  • Grats. Perhaps by the time you return, mpq will be an amazing game.
  • I have 3 year old twins (boy-girl frats) and a 2 year old daughter. Good luck, 3 kids to two parents is a whole other world. On the plus you might find yourself able to hit 3am refreshes if you guys bottle feed, so there's that. Thanks for keeping this forum clean and my kitchen unfitted.

    Congrats, and good luck.

I bet you will be back though. When you are sitting in a recliner with a 2 month old asleep on your chest there's not much you can do. If you move you wake the baby, so do what I do. Pull out my phone, turn the volume off and keep busy til the baby wakes on their on. My boy is just so cute when he is asleep I can't bear to wake him, even if it means I can't move a muscle or make a sound for 2 or 3 hours straight. It's all worth it though.

Best of luck to u and your family. JJ
  • Well, I'm back from the hospital and pleasantly surprised to find my name is still green. Since I can't hand out cigars to each of you (and your lungs should appreciate that), I'll nuke a few spammers instead.

I normally don't share much on the internet, but it's hard not to be a proud papa. So here's a pic of my kids. Everyone is doing well: the twins are healthy, my toddler is adjusting, and my wife is recovering (and the cats are neurotic, the dogs are ecstatic to have us back).

I hit every single lightning round last week. Every. Single. One. Turns out, even with twins, a hospital room is still very, very boring. On top of that, I renewed my marvel unlimited subscription and plowed through around 80 comics.

Even if I was bitter at the game, I wouldn't direct that negativity at you guys. It wouldn't accomplish anything except make you all a tad more cynical. Why would I want to harm such a great community?
  • Damn that's a cute photo. Congrats dude icon_e_smile.gif
  • Good luck! Get them playing MPQ as soon as possible icon_e_biggrin.gif
