Worthless reward tokens

Sorry, but need to vent. It's been about a month since I've pulled anything other than **** 2**'s from any tokens. Seriously, why even offer them if the drop rate of 3***'s is ~0%?

It's gotten to the point where I'm no longer even remotely excited when I see those coveted tokens delivered as rewards since I know there's about a 40% chance I'll pull a bagman and a 60% chance I pull some 2** I already have maxed.

  • Yeah, I had this happen to me for about a month from 2 weeks ago to 6 weeks ago. I just had to, as everyone does, come to the realization that the event tokens are not very good anymore and temper my expectations accordingly.
  • yeah tokens are like a 15% chance, so thats about 1 in 7 so its likely to go on a 3 week drought without pulling one, then pull one or 2 and go on another drought. . . it sucks

    We're not sure why the players prefer this system, but we suspect the answer is a simple one: If a pay to win system is bad, then a pay to not win system is, by definition, good.
  • I'd say about... at least 75% of the Progress Reward packs I get from stuff like PvP events get me Bagman covers. icon_neutral.gif If they're trying to get people to want to spend money to buy packs, they're going about it the worst possible way.
  • I stopped buying heroic tokens months ago just because odds are very bad and even reasonable amount of real money doesn't offer anything worth buying in this game. Only way to get at least something useful would be pay huge mount of money for devs and buy those desired covers directly. But quite honestly, I don't think they deserve it at the moment. Economy in this game sucks.

    But it's apparently effective at getting people to spend money. The worse they've made token drop rates, the more they sell. I'm not sure if whales keep buying regardless of price, or if it's inducing lotto fever in a larger number of smaller buyers. However it works out, they sell a lot more ten packs than when a ten pack guaranteed a featured hero. Better sales is also why pvp is only ever "featured three star and your two mainstays" format.

    I'm pretty sure all the 3* I've pulled since the token changes have been from standard tokens. But that kinda was the case beforehand.
  • This is the reason I'm quitting the game. I had already reconsidered my expectations of this game when I couldn't place top 50 anymore in PvP to win a single 3* cover. I thought "cool, now maybe I can get a 3* cover from rewards once in a while". Well, with almost non-existant possibility of pulling one, that doesn't work.
  • I'm actually pretty lucky with tokens. I've pulled 3* Psylocke, Hulk, Falcon and 4 * Wolvie from tokens in the past week. I have 9 **** 4* Wolvie covers and have never won a tournament. I really don't have a problem with the drop rates, I've played other games whose drop rates are much much lower. What I do have a problem with, is just about everything else about the game at the moment.

    I pulled Invisible Woman from a TaT token this morning.

    I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

    Idk... I pulled 2 3*'s from this event, and 1 4*.

    You've just been extremely lucky. It doesn't change the fact that the chances to pull 3* are next to non-existant. I'll see you when your luck runs out. I'm suspecting D3P also tempers with individual cover chances of each player looking at their purchase history and what not similar to they offer individual sales.

    edit: In case anyone doesn't know, D3P offers individual sales to players.
