Ability screen glitch

How come when you tap a characters icon to use his abilities, you can still make matches? I'll tap the ability I want to use and instead it will make a match behind the ability. Someone needs to fix this, because I'm tired of sitting there tapping the screen 20 times and hitting tiles instead of the ability.
