R55 - won't update; keeps quitting and going to Steam

Every time I start MPQ now, I get a dialog saying "there's a new version; upgrade?". If I say "yes", MPQ terminates and I get the Steam webpage for MPQ - with no link to update MPQ.

If I go to my library page in the Steam client, and select MPQ, there is no link to update MPQ.

If I say "no" to that dialog, MPQ starts and seems to work, except that I keep getting that dialog every so often.

Why isn't MPQ auto-updating like it always has? Why stop everything and demand I hold its hand? And why can't I just update and get this thing to go away?

Me too And I will need to travel the next 3 days (leaving at 5am), so wanted to have Steam in offline mode on laptop, but no, they of course have to do that hourse before I leave, and it not working as it worked the last months...

Wonder if this has anything to do with the recent problem where some less-than-smart individual wiped the base install package for all free-to-play titles from Steam's application database.

Anyway; as this problem is very clearly on the developer's end and is only affecting those players that play on their PC from Steam, I am calling for D3P to award compensation for the lost ranking points to Steam players.

Same problem! If this isn't fixed in the next seven hours, I'm done. I can't even play long enough to get my daily bonus. And just when all of my allies were playing daily too.

Hey, would uninstall and reinstall work to fix this problem?

If you uninstalled and Steam's current report of "0 disk space" required indicates what I'm afraid it does, you wouldn't be able to reinstall at all (until Steam finally updated correctly).

Meanwhile, the game is playable on PC - I just got 300 rating on the Mag tourney - but I had to dismiss around a dozen "do ya wanna upgrade huh huh??" dialogs.

The scary part is how those dialogs appear - suddenly, and right in the middle of the playing field. If you're playing an important PvP match during shield hopping, click to make a match and that dialog pops right there, you hit 'yes', EXIT!, no upgrade, and you just lost the match, enjoy your drop of 15 places in the ranking and damage to your team.

In other words, D3: ***** FIX THIS. *****

Too little for the aggrevation involved. The added spent time of twiddling our thumbs and waiting for this mess to be resolved or the hassle of quitting whatever else you're doing and checking back every half hour? That should be worth more than just 50 HP, one of the bottom alliance rewards. (Which ironically; you're going to end up getting now if you're in an alliance with mostly Steam players...)

100 HP or even 150 HP seems a heck of a lot more fair. And those players that were close to or within the reach of the Storm covers should probably be awarded additional HP, imho. Something in the range of 250 or 300 HP. That's still just two heroic tokens worth of HP, which is a pittance compared to the potential of a new 3 star character (Especially here, since a 3* version of 1* Storm can end up being crazy good) not to mention the additional leg up you're going to miss out on during the next few PvE or PvP rounds where 3* Storm is going to be one of the powered-ups and essentials...

Fixed as in "the game can update and run again without nagware update dialogs" and fixed as in "all potential to place well in PvE has been neutered due to ridiculous scaling increase".

Also raising "thick as.." main event scaling, around +130 level in "business partners" n +60-80 to other nodes.

Yeah, true. Ruined my plans, I tell you. I was waiting for my characters to heal so I could get some more points. But my main team was almost killed in only two fights, and I used up all my health packs. Yesterday, I was winning fights easily.
