I'm so sick of spending hero points to get maxed 2* covers

Thanks, d3. I already have a maxed 2* Thor, OBW and Ares. It'd be nice to get covers that actually improve my roster since I continuously get pitted against teams with more than one 100+

They used to give less iso but also give you hp. So, yea. They won't revert that...

Then maybe stop buying them? They aren't the best use of your hero points.

Feel free to point and laugh but what else do I do with them besides shield? I never come near 1100 in competitions so I don't get the 3* covers unless I win/buy heroic tokens.

Spend them to shield for placement awards in PvP. With a good alliance you'll usually recoup what you spend. One shield is routinely enough for top 25-50 for me, which will get you a 3*. If you've got enough to throw at hero tokens, you can probably use shield hopping to boost up higher and get additional covers from the higher placement awards.

If that's not working, then saving up for the 3* cover boost at 1250 HP is better than rolling the dice on hero tokens IMO.

That's another problem for another thread but my alliance is horrendous... Sometimes only 3 people play daily. I tried joining a larger one and got promptly booted. I totally get that I'm not on a 3 star level yet but I guess I just don't quite know how to get there.

Thank you for the advice regarding the shields and the cover boosts though... That's good to know! I got a Black Panther from a standard recruit token so my bitterness has subsided a bit but it's still annoying to waste hero points on characters you have maxed already.

I use HP to upgrade 3* abilities.

Some day I might have enough to upgrade Nick Fury too.

Please, please, please, stop spending your HP on tokens, it pains everyone else and causes kitten deaths.
I have spent 100 HP on a heroic token exactly once, *by mistake*, was instantly upset before I even opened the token (it was Moonstone of course). HP is not for tokens, when you have better ways of getting covers. Doubly so if you're F2P like me.

If you have a developed 2* roster already and can score 600-800 points routinely in every PvP tourney (yes you often need at least a 3 hour shield for that with a 2* team), any top 100 alliance that is one member short would gladly take you. FWIW we recruited three mostly 2* players recently due to older members leaving and their performance is on par with more developed rosters. Strength of your roster matters little if you play consistently and are not averse to shielding for an end of a tourney if you can't defend your score otherwise. I can afford to sit unshielded in top 10-25 when I don't need the covers, but I have a lot of 3*s by now and can always play when an event is ending.

Here, take a look if any top 100 alliance needs a player. Joining a big alliance without being invited first is usually a bad idea.

Thanks for the advice about the alliances-- I was actually invited by someone on Facebook and then I think they had second thoughts about me or something? I dunno, but I joined as instructed and got booted right away so obviously I did something wrong. I'll look for one here... I'm almost always around before events end and don't mind using shields especially if I won't need the HP for tokens so it should be okay.
