How many slots?

I know that everyone will have a different opinion on this, but I'm curious what some of you think.

The go-to currency advice for new players is to only spend HP on roster slots. When do you stop that behavior and start saving up for covers and whatnot? 20 slots? 30? Once you hit the maximum amount of slots available (assuming there even is a max)? What's your opinion?

    Strongly recommended: 30-35.

However, this opinion is based on older game mechanics. It doesn't account for changes in 3* cover accrual rate brought on by sharding and the new MMR schema.

It still holds true especially if newer players are more easily able to compete for 3* covers than they used to be.

Though I guess you could forgo some slots if you're planning on skipping most of the 2* transition or just concentrating on the most OP characters and ignoring the mid-tier and poor choices (MNMags, CStorm, AWolvie, etc).

there really is no limit that i know of, i've got 65 slots for 43 characters. Recommended is about 30 or so like the others have said, you'd be okay stopping between 35 and 40, cause no one's gonna really level up the **** characters(Yelena, bagman etc)

It really, really looks like they won't rerun one star tourneys because they generate no revenue, so you can safely ditch all your one stars besides mStorm and maybe mBW if you have no cStorm/Cap for stuns. Heroic events usually only allow 2 three stars, 3 two stars and 2 one stars, but there's nothing one stars can do that two and three stars don't do better.
  • I saved 1* Black Widow, 1* Storm, and 1* Iron Man as a 'just in case' 1* team and ditched the rest. Beyond that I added a slot whenever i picked up a new 2*/3*/4*.
