Everlasting Torment allows Prevent Damage

Everlasting Torment reads "Each creature and Planeswalker loses Prevent Damage and can't gain Prevent Damage."

However in my match vs Heroic Intervention, the PW used it's ability to give it's creature Prevent Damage.
