Now back to MMR and this AI defending thing, it still seems your MMR gets reduced when you get attacked.....why? you're not playing, how can that has a meaningful impact on the MMR? How about that if you get attacked you get a "pool" of points that are being challgened like this:
Player A attacks Player B - This match has a wager of 30 points, Player A wins, he has a guaranteed 15 points, now, if Player B retaliates and wins, then he gets the other 15 points, otherwise if he skips or loses Player A gets the full 30 points, there, everyone happy, no one loses points and player intereaction is present, also MMR should be calculated ONLY when there's a player interaction IF I WIN OR LOSE it's when my MMR should be changed, not when the AI wins or loses a match for me
I can go for this!! In theory
The only possible downside is the delay in receiving the points which would depend on how long it took Player B to either skip or retaliate. And what if he just left a node untouched with a retaliation sitting there and played the other nodes?0 -
Yeah well there could be some holes to be filled in this idea, one solution could be add a timer for the retaliation that when finished counts as a forfeit, in any case those are additional points, you must make your calculations towards your first win.
Another idea i have is to make retaliations appealing with a bonus only to the defender, so it goes like this
Player A vs Player B - Wager 30 points
A Attacks B and wins - A gets 15 points
B gets the chance to retaliate within a 1 or 2 hours frame to get 15 points and a retaliation bonus of let's say 5 points
B wins gets 20 points total
B Loses then A gets the other 15 points for a total of 30
The other scenario
A attacks B and loses - A loses 15 points
Again B gets the chance to retaliate within a time frame and the bonus
B wins gets a total of 20 points
B loses then gives 15 points to A
I think it would make the game a little bit more dynamic and player interaction oriented rather than rewarding/punishing the AI0
