A Different Idea fo PvE

In PvE it feels to me like the advantage has been going either to people who are able to play at the optimal times during the event, or those who have the time/desire to endlessly grind nodes. Neither of these seem like the best reward system to me as I’d rather reward players who show more skill at the game. I’d love to see a PvE that went more like this:

Have 36 hour subs with 7 nodes each, one each with level 30, 50, 70, 90, 110, 150 and 200 opponents. Award 100 points per level of the node. Each node can be defeated once. Along with the node points also award bonus points for accomplishments like:

Do not use any character on more than one node: + 1000
Defeat a node using only Level 1 characters: +500
Defeat a Maggia node without a Countdown tile going off: + 600
Exit a node with all characters at full health: +400
Do not use an active Green power in one node: +300
Complete a node in 10 rounds or less: + 500
Use only female characters in a node: +200
Do not allow Thor to Call the Storm in node 6: +300
Visit a Hot Dog Stand: +200

And to give some score differentiation include something like -1 point/1000 damage taken to benefit players who can clear nodes more quickly.

With this it becomes very easy to manage Progression Rewards so that newer players can get rewards that are meaningful to them and advanced players can get rewards that they care about. Players with deep rosters who enjoy trying to strategize the best matchups using their rosters can get a bonus for doing so (encouraging deep rosters that have a breadth of 1*, 2* and 3* characters). There is incentive to play well (come out a full health) instead of poorly (make sure to lose a bunch of health so you don’t get wacky scaling). A 36 hour window would give all players a chance to do the nodes without feeling like it was work, feeling hugely disadvantaged if they couldn’t play for a day, nor would the time zone they live in help or hinder them.

By varying the goals for any sub each one could have a very different feel to it and keep PvE’s interesting for a long time to come.
