New Mechanics

Evoke

Evoke is an evergreen that works when the respective creature card is exiled from the hand with full mana. When using the Evoke evergreen, all of the card’s “When this creature enters the battlefield” and “When this creature leaves the battlefield” abilities trigger. After all effects are resolved, the card is put in the graveyard instead of the exile.

Note that this effect doesn’t make the creature actually enter the battlefield. On one hand, only that card’s effects will trigger; that is, other creatures on the battlefield will not acknowledge this friend entering. On the other hand, you can use Evoke without having to replace a creature if you already have a full battlefield.

Kindred

When the player casts a card with the Kindred mechanic, all creatures that share a creature subtype with the Kindred card get +1/+1, and each card in hand with the same creature subtype will gain 3 mana.

Clash

Clash is a Keyword that can be applied to any type of card. Clash will have a requisite to trigger, and when it triggers, it reveals the top card of the deck of both players. If the card revealed by the controller of the Clash effect has a higher mana cost, it’s considered that they win the clash, and the effect linked to that Clash trigger resolves.

New Story Mode

This edition brings a full rework of the Story Mode. Each week, you’ll face a new sequence of battles — culminating in mini-boss and boss encounters — tied to stories inspired by Magic’s rich universe.

A more in-depth discussion about it and a preview of the new Story Mode screens can be found on our latest Mana Echoes post.

New Quests

7.5.0 brings new challenges to the list of Quests. Expect to see Story Mode being mentioned, integrating it with the daily flow of the game.

New Planeswalkers and a Rework

Historically, the first Planeswalkers were introduced to the Magic world in Lorwyn. As this plane is brought to Magic: Puzzle Quest for the first time, we’ll also have the special release of these Planeswalkers! Ajani Goldmane, Jace Beleren, Liliana Vess and Chandra Nalaar will be offered at the store with the release of 7.5.0.

Now, Garruk Wildspeaker will receive a rework to make him better aligned with his Lorwyn colleagues. Here is what you should expect:

  • This change is retroactive, meaning all existing Garruk Wildspeaker will have the new abilities and stats.
  • Garruk has also received an updated custom deck. Players who already have this Planeswalker will receive his new deck via inbox in a few days.
  • For those who don’t own Garruk yet, he’ll be available as a Weekly Reward for a limited time!

Ajani Goldmane

Ajani was born an albino leonin to a pride where that is seen as a stigma, to be “White as Death”. Jazal was his brother, his most trusted friend, biggest defender, and served as the leader of their pride. But even with his brother by his side, Ajani was still seen as a blight. It all came to a boil during the Festival of Marisi, a commemoration of revolution. After the pride went to sleep a dark ritual was prepared, and shadows poured out attacking their home, during the conflict Jazal was killed, and with his brother’s body in his hands, Ajani’s spark ignited, planeswalking the leonin for the first time.

Ajani’s abilities revolve around:

  • Progressive life gain based on your creatures.
  • Increase your team efficiency and even more in Cat typal decks.
  • Bring a representative of Ajani’s power into the battlefield.

He then rampaged with his beasts through the sheriff's town, allowing himself to be incarcerated in the same prison where his father died, just to break out of it, killing the murderer sheriff in the process. ”Not all species on Evendo welcomed the thawing of the ice.”

Evendo was a frozen wasteland when the Eumidians woke up. The flaming bits of Kfaron thawed the first thin layer of ice on the surface and started a process that the Eumidian vanguard finished. A new atmosphere, new life, but with each layer of ice that melted, ancient behemoths awoke, and their reign will not be as easily toppled as a sheet of ice.
