Houston, we have a match damage problem

You guys really need to address these match damage exploits I.e. M’Baku & Namor. Why have a “match 3” game when the entire match ends in one, it’s not fair, and it’s really close to being a cheat because there’s no viable counter. Thanks

Banning Fantasticar has done a lot to weaken that team. They can still hit a lucky cascade but are a lot less likely to oneshot your entire team before you can move the board.
If it's Sim that's the problem, and they're paired with Chasm, the Refreshment Cart support should negate his stun and give you a shot to try to kill Namor before they go off.

ThanksTheir only gimmick is match damage and there are plenty of characters that reduce match damage enough to make mbaku/namor not matter. That's why in sim you see them with chasm, to stop those damage reduction passives for one turn. In regular pvp where they can't pick chasm as a third I almost never saw this team at all.
Mostly I see boosted characters, but the only nonboosted teams I see are overwhelmingly hammer jugg with sam and then much less often the occasional mthor/polaris

Apologies for the noise if you are just venting, but, just in case, since you mentioned there being no viable counters (there are some):
- Colossus5 - Protects your entire team from this damage
- Juggy4 - Blocks 90% match damage and teams very well with Sam and others to kill quickly
- Blob4 - Blocks 90% and has other SAP decentness
- Darkveil4 - Counters and sends them away
- SpiderMay5 - Can dodge a lot of it, but is generally not great
- KingPin5 - Blocks an ok percentage and can be increased
- Immortals - Can res
There are multiple other indirect ways to deal with them (which is what a lot of people usually do?)
- Stun them on turn 1
- Kill key players turn 1
- Go airborne ASAP
- Pair defensive characters (similar to the ones noted above)
If there are specific teams you are struggling with, drop em here and I'm sure we can help, or check in on the counter meta thread, which has many in depth write ups etc. for stopping some of this.

Snowballing off of what Whitebomber added, another great counter to them is Gold Nova and I hulk with green ap supports. Nova goes airborne turn 1 taking no damage and doing lots of aoe damage, and hulk gets hit repeatedly but just keeps coming back to life.

Not sure is Colossus does this but Juggs for sure does, Namors hit that is usually huge because of Baku gets lowered by 90% as well if Juggs takes the initial match 3.

Purple Man and iHulk, damage just gets redirected to Hulk.
