So like I imagine many of you, I am currently filling teams with members of the Fantastic Four to get their enormous list of chores done. But I thought - I know what can help, the Worlds Smartest Man! Match enemy specials and he fires free powers, yes! I had almost already finished Sue's stuff when I came up with this amazing plan only needing to fire green and yellow powers.

Match 1 - Mindless Ones countdowns count as special tiles, here we go! Reed matched them and fired...Sue's blue. No Reed! Wrong one. That said, I managed to finish Sue yellow. let's try again.

Match 2 - Reed fires Sue yellow. OK, maybe it is her and not you.

Match 3 - I subbed Sue out, now we have Reed, Ben and Johnny. Reed fails completely to fire anybodies powers.

Match 4 - Maybe I am going about this wrong. Maybe what I need is an AP battery AND Reed. I sub Johnny out for IM40. Alrighty then. Reed matches countdown tiles and fires...Iron Man's red. No, no, no Reed, what is wrong with you?!? That also kills the enemy coz this is in the easy nodes of Honour Among Thieves.

Match 5 - Reed fires a blue power! Yay...oh wait, it is not his blue power it is Iron Man's blue power, that kills two Mindless Ones and the other one left is already mostly dead.

I...I must be doing this wrong, surely the Worlds Smartest Man can't be this dumb. But then I remembered - this is Reed Richards

...and Reed Richards is a ****.

Wellll that last panel could simply be Reed looking for some action

Oh definitely but only after he insulted Sue’s dusting skills at the same time he had already invented a robot who could do that but not told her.

Also literally as soon as I didn’t need him to fire the powers anymore he immediately did. SMH.

I honestly never would have given it much thought without this ridiculously long to-do list... (Which is only so ridiculously long because every member of the FF and their chosen adjacent allies are so slow and ineffective compared to others in the game)

But trying to complete the list has made it painfully obvious that none of the FF are worth using. And that, for some unknown reason, includes Jim Hammond who... Someone apparently thought is in the FF, but is a completely different character and doesn't even have the affiliation in the game.

As for Reed, it does seem counter intuitive that the world's smartest man relies on random chance when firing those extra abilities. There are multiple FF members with some randomness to their powers, but Reed should have as little randomness as possible while he seems to have the most.

Unless the OP is correct and the randomness is intentional in order to communicate "Reed knows what you need, but he's not going to give it to you because he's just not a good guy."

It's not so bad, but the fire power quests in general are the worst. I've been pairing two f4 characters with OR to knock out the 3 easy nodes in pve. Usually would use thanos instead of OR but this saves me a couple health packs from thanos' friendly fire. That takes care of the win quests and half the match play quests. When the character specific pvp comes around, I'll then take care of that characters fire power quest. I focus on that first since I may use different characters and/or support combos than I would for my climb and placement. Once the fire powers are done, then I work on getting my usual placement.

You can take care of the play quests by just doing DDQ and retreating endlessly (well roughly 10x before the run out of health). So that one is trivial.

If you have both +5 Green supports you can at least knock out all the Green related quests at the same time you do the play quests via the retreat (just fire the green before retreating). If you need extra green, just use Chasm or another spider character as the 3rd and equip the spider sense support for the +4 starting green (100%).

I think people may be misunderstanding - I already got what I want from the quests. I just wanted to point out what a tool Reed is!

An interviewer needs to spring those lines on Pedro Pascal and get him to voice them. See if the delivery can save them.

I bet Black Bolt would have to say something about that, IF he still had a mouth
